🎀 Let’s Talk Mammograms 🎀

We know that scheduling a mammogram can feel intimidating — but understanding what to expect can make it easier and less stressful.

A mammogram is a low-dose X-ray that helps detect breast changes long before they can be felt during an exam. It’s one of the most effective tools for early breast cancer detection.

💗 How it works:
A technician gently compresses each breast between two plates to take detailed images. The process only takes a few minutes — and could save your life.

💗 Radiation Risk:
Mammograms use an extremely low amount of radiation — about the same as a short airplane flight (roughly 0.4 mSv).
The benefits of early detection far outweigh this minimal risk.

💗 When to start:
Most women should begin annual mammograms at age 40, or earlier if you have higher risk factors.
