Michelle brings light, positivity, and heart to our Y every single day. If you've checked in with her, you know exactly what they're talking about. She makes you feel better just by being herself!

Hi!

We're taking note of cool people in the community who are simply... cool. Cool? Like people who smoke a cigarette whilst wearing sunglasses and leaning up against a corvette? Nope! It's not the 80's where Hollywood glamorized bad boys who were actually very silly with undeveloped brains.

We're talking about emotional intelligence and an evolved way of being. Someone who is open minded, big hearted, funny and they leave you feeling a little bit better than before you interacted with them. You love 'em so much you want to make sure they know, that you know how wonderful they are. That's why we decided to give Michelle Cisneros, the coolest of cool, a free pizza from Do Drop Inn. Michelle works at the front desk at the YMCA here in Pueblo. She somehow remembers everyone's name and is so dang nice and full of joy everyday. She manages to knock you out of any funk you might be in. She radiates all the good stuff. One of the Y's fitness instructors, Jasmine, said, "Out of all the places I've worked I have never met anyone like Michelle. She's the best customer service rep and a cool co-worker. I love her."

We asked Michelle, "How are you always so friendly and fun?"
She said, "I honestly love my job. I love coming to work. I love all of you."
We asked: "Where do you think you got this positivity from? Who influenced you?"
Michelle said, "My mom. She was always so nice and upbeat and kind. No matter what. She was kind to us."

Well, Michelle - here's to you and your sweet, late mother. Thank you for being you and making those who know you feel good. You have a gift and we just wanted to let you know we see it.

Last week, our President & CEO, Janelle Andrews, joined YMCA leaders from across Colorado at the Colorado State Capitol for statewide Advocacy Day.

Together with the Colorado Alliance of YMCAs, YMCAs met with legislators to advocate for policies that strengthen families, expand access to child care, support youth development, and promote healthier communities.

As the only single-branch YMCA association in Colorado, the YMCA of Pueblo is proud to have a voice at the Capitol — representing the needs of our members, our families, and our community.

We’re grateful for strong leadership that ensures Pueblo’s voice is heard at the state level.

The YMCA is more than a place — it’s a movement working every day to build a stronger Pueblo and a stronger Colorado. 🫶

Walk With Ease is BACK!! 🚶‍♀️✨ Join us April 6 – May 15 for this nationally recognized Arthritis Foundation walking program designed to reduce joint pain, improve mobility, and boost overall health.

We’ll explore scenic Pueblo spots like our brand-new Dr. Bruno DeRose Field and the Pueblo Riverwalk — all while walking together toward better health.
