Let’s start with the basics. Community health centers are not getting rich off 340B. In 2024, they operated at a negative 2.1% margin while continuing to care for patients who count on them every day. This program helps keep services available in communities that need them most.

Access to medication should never depend on distance, transportation, or barriers created behind the scenes.

Right now, one of the biggest threats to the 340B program is the growing restriction on local contract pharmacies. These partnerships are not optional - they are essential. For many patients, especially in rural and underserved communities, contract pharmacies are the only practical way to get the medications they need.

In New York alone, more than 90% of community health centers rely on contract pharmacies - partnering with an average of 16–20 locations -
𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚.

When manufacturers restrict these partnerships, it’s not about “efficiency.”
It’s about limiting access.
It’s about putting up barriers between patients and their care.

We cannot allow policies that make it harder for patients to get the medications they depend on. Access matters. Equity matters. Patients deserve better. 💙
