November is Hospice & Palliative Care Month — a time to honor the professionals and volunteers who bring comfort, dignity, and compassion to families facing life’s hardest moments. 💜
We’re deeply grateful for every nurse, doctor, social worker, chaplain, volunteer, and caregiver who helps make the journey a little gentler.

Many religious traditions recognize their loved ones at this time of year through All Saint's Day, All Soul's Day, or other remembrance events. Although our traditions may vary, we can all agree that our loved ones deserve to be remembered and cherished.

Patricia A. Gwidt, 83, Legend Lake and formerly of Pulaski, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, October 28, 2025, at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah. The daughter of the late Adam and Ione (Moesch) Gwidt was born October 25, 1942, and was a 1960 graduate of Pulaski High School. On April 23, 1966, she married Jerry Pawelczyk at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1985.

Over the years Pat had been employed at Furnitureland, Pawelczyk Insurance, Northern Shoe, and Pulaski State Bank. She also taught swimming lessons at the Pulaski Pool for a time. She loved swimming and continued to swim several times each week.

Pat had been a member of the Pulaski Area Chamber of Commerce and had been honored with the organization’s Person of the Year Award. She had been a strong Board member for the Pulaski United Foundation under PACE. In addition, she had been involved with the Pulaski Community Pantry and later was instrumental in helping to establish and run the St. Michael’s Food Pantry in Keshena.

In her ‘spare’ time, Pat was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Hosta Society and the Gillett Gardening Club. Oftentimes you would find her judging gardening exhibits at local county fairs. She also enjoyed going to card parties and was a regular for Sheepshead on Thursday nights at the Legend Lake Lodge.

Pat lived her faith. She was a spirited and generous woman, always ready to jump in and get the work done. The grass did not grow under her feet. Pat had been an active member of St. Michael’s Parish in Keshena for the past 20+ years. The St. Michael Parish Community is grieving the loss of a dear friend. She was hardworking, witty, compassionate, and fun… it was a joy to be in her company.

Survivors include one sister, Sue (Tom) Kapla, Sobieski; four brothers: Tom (Patty) Gwidt, Krakow, Mike (Theresa) Gwidt, Pulaski, Tim Gwidt, Howard, and Steve (Lynn) Gwidt, Pulaski; two sisters-in-law: Kathy Gwidt, Mequon and Tracy Adams, Bellevue; several nieces and nephews whom she treasured, Jerry’s family, and many, many close friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Dennis Gwidt, a sister, Mary Lynn Gwidt, and a nephew, Jeffrey Gwidt, and her beagle “kids.”

Friends are invited to gather with the family at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6th. The Parish Wake Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7th, at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. James Vacco, O.F.M. presiding and Fr. Hanz Christian Borbor concelebrating. Burial will take place in the Assumption B.V.M. Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the St. Michael’s Food Pantry or the Pulaski Community Pantry.

Online Condolences may be expressed at www.marnochafuneralhome.com or on the Marnocha Funeral Home page.

Today is Visit a Cemetery Day — a reminder that cemeteries aren’t just places of loss, but places of love, memory, and peace. Take a moment to walk the grounds, read the names, and remember the stories that live on. 🌿
