We’re taking another important step to protect our patients and our community. 🩺

STRHS Pulaski has officially joined the Billion Pill Pledge, a nationwide effort focused on preventing opioid addiction before it starts—especially after surgery, when unused prescriptions can pose serious risks at home.

Through this program, our surgical teams are expanding patient education, using evidence-based pain management strategies, and offering more opioid-minimizing options whenever possible. Patients will also have access to additional support before and after surgery to help ensure a safe, healthy recovery.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to do what’s right for Giles County—today and for the future.

Many serious health conditions don’t cause symptoms right away. That’s why annual blood work is such an important part of preventive care. Routine labs can reveal early signs of heart disease, diabetes, kidney issues, and more, often before you feel anything is wrong. Reviewing these results with a primary care provider helps catch small changes early, when they’re easier to manage. 🏆 We’re honored to share some exciting news! 🫁

STRHS Pulaski has been awarded the Lifepoint Health Excellence in Lung Cancer Screening Community Awareness Award, recognizing the greatest community impact in lung cancer screening efforts across our division in 2025.

📈 Over the last five years, we’ve seen a 243% increase in lung cancer screenings. “Most importantly, this growth means more people reached earlier—and more lives with a better chance at timely care,” said Amie Mendez, Healthy Person Program Director for Lifepoint Health.

This achievement truly reflects teamwork—from our outreach specialist and referring providers, to our emergency department, marketing, and especially our imaging department. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference for our community.

We’re proud to be recognized and even prouder of the lives impacted along the way. 💙

With forecasts calling for heavy snow this weekend—and the possibility of continued winter weather beyond that—we encourage everyone to begin preparing now.

🩺 If you are feeling sick or believe you may need to be seen by a provider, please come in or schedule an appointment as soon as possible rather than waiting until weather conditions worsen.

We also recommend taking time today, Thursday, or Friday to prepare by:
• Requesting any needed medication refills
• Stocking up on food and water
• Making sure you have supplies to stay warm, such as a reliable heat source, blankets, and charged devices or batteries

If you are unable to make it to a scheduled appointment due to weather conditions, please call our office as soon as possible to let us know.

Any updates regarding closures, delayed hours, or limited staffing will be shared here on our page. Please stay safe and take care!
