🎵Music isn’t just something we do during special activities, it’s part of our everyday routine 🎶

We use music during transitions, circle time, and throughout the day to help children move between activities, build language, and stay engaged.

Songs support listening skills, memory, and a sense of routine, while also making the day feel fun and connected.

These small, consistent moments are where so much learning happens.

It's MUSIC WEEK, and we are enjoying our guest musicians 🎵🎸🎼

Music week has been full of movement, rhythm, and creativity, so far.

Through music, children are building listening skills, coordination, and confidence, while having fun and expressing themselves.

It’s always amazing to see how naturally children learn through experiences like this.

March: Women’s History Month 🤍

As a minority female business owner, and as a mom to a 16-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son, I think a lot about what I’m modeling every day.

My daughter is watching how I lead.

My son is learning how to respect strong women.

That responsibility matters.

I love this quote from Eileen Gu:
“I hope young girls see that they don’t have to fit into one box, they can be everything.”

That starts early.

In our classrooms, we work hard to build confidence, resilience, and voice, in all children. The foundation we lay now shapes how they see themselves later.

Fingerpainting might look messy, but it plays an important role in early childhood development 🎨

Activities like this help children build fine motor skills, explore creativity, and express themselves in a hands-on way. Just as important, they’re learning confidence and joy through play.

We love watching children learn in ways that feel natural and fun.

Celebrating Winter, Culture, and Community

The winter season is filled with many holidays, traditions, and ways of celebrating around the world. At Building Blocks, we embrace this time as an opportunity to learn about diversity, culture, and connection. Thank you to community members for contributing to this learning!

Through stories, music, art, and meaningful conversations, our children are exposed to different winter celebrations and traditions, helping them learn that families celebrate in many beautiful and unique ways. This early exposure supports empathy, curiosity, and respect for others, while strengthening social-emotional development and a sense of belonging.

In early childhood, learning about the world beyond ourselves helps lay the foundation for kindness, understanding, and inclusivity, values we carry with us far beyond the classroom.

✨ Adopting a Grandparent ✨

Our Preschoolers recently participated in a special Adopt a Grandparent experience with Bishop Place shopping for gifts with play money, wrapping presents, and delivering them with Christmas carols. 💝🎶

This meaningful activity supported kindness, creativity, and early math skills while building intergenerational connections. Be sure to read more about this special experience in our newsletter!

• All-Day or Full-Day care — 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week
