Celebrating Year 10!
In July 2021 Tina moved home to the Palouse and joined The Nest midwife team! For the previous 15 years, she had worked only in hospitals as a nurse midwife. She had never attended a home or birth center birth in her life and we took a leap of faith....and so did she. She immediately fell in awe of our world. One of our favorite things about Tina is hearing her exuberant delight about witnessing a first time mom catching her own baby, or when a new experience in community birth "blows her mind," or expressing how much love she has for the women we care for.
In April 2023, Tina forged a new path and was granted privilges at Whitman Hospital and became the first and only midwife on the Palouse to offer home, birth center and hospital birth. This is an incredible and groundbreaking accomplishment that very few midwives in this country have achieved. To be able to offer midwifery care to our families in any setting has been such a gift.
We are deeply grateful for Tina's steady, calm and quiet presence in the birth space. She is a fierce advocate for her patients. As a midwife, Tina walks with women through whatever circumstances arise with adaptability, straightforward communication and a great sense of humor; guiding women to feel deeply supported in their choices.
