Celebrating Year 10!

During the summer of 2016 KO moved to the Palouse area! We met for coffee- she was clearly very wise and intelligent. She had finished her bachelors at Stanford, her Naturopathic degree and midwifery training at Bastyr. We decided she would assist me at births for awhile and see if we were a good fit for a potential partnership. Her first birth with me was in the middle of nowhere, there were guns all over the walls and the husband was in the midst of a mental crisis. The mom was very lovely and had a beautiful birth. She later told me that she thought- “so this is rural midwifery”. In the months that followed we developed a beautiful labor dance together- we both felt so grateful for the gift this was. In the Spring we launched our integrated practice!

Last visit with this little one. Her middle name is Vevina (ViviAnne+Tina)! Her mom travels 4 hours to see us! That may be a record distance. She is the 5th girl in her family, we have had the absolute pleasure of attending 4 of their births❤️
