Oh my beautiful friends, we have been THRU it y’all. 😩😴🤬

My home was spared- twice. Imma let you know there is some survivor guilt there, and I’m gonna have to sit with that.

I’m finding that my heart is heavy for so many other people and businesses - and not my own. This is a different kind of load to carry, and it’s exhausting. Gotta sit with that too.

My gut is in knots mainly for the yoga studio I call home. That literally made me the yoga human I am- not just a teacher. But a human that can hold space, feel things, and somehow find my way back to being grounded. I don’t know how I find my way back to a level head- yoga magic maybe?! 🪄🦄🧞

But I am just flummoxed by this community - this group of yogis that The Yoga Sancutary has created and cultivated over almost 20 years. It’s a different kind of sense of security to know that even if it’s not my hands over there today, I KNOW someone is there- scooping the mud. And its a relief that for once I don’t feel like I have to be everywhere all at once. (Damn, there’s that movie reference again… 😂).

So what’s with the plant? This was a plant that I received from Jennifer at TYS as a Christmas gift last year. It was just a little leaf back then- I thought for sure it was sentenced to death coming to my house 😂🌱 But here we are, this little thing has survived so much. It’s become a symbol of resilience and stability. And by “so much” I mean living here with me trying desperately not to kill it 😂

So, if you’ve made it to the end of this babbling, deep bow to you for reading my ramblings - but send a little love to The Yoga Sanctuary for a fast recovery. And not just TYS, but everyone that’s climbing up this hill of recovery. Take a deep breath, and just be still for a second and hold that seed of impermanence. Because this my friends- ain’t permanent. 💜

Yoga at the Brewery this weekend is postponed- I’ll let you know a date soon. I’ve got an online schedule of classes coming up as we know more about the studio. Check it out at the link in my bio. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Whew - what a few weeks we've had. 😵‍💫🌀🤬

Just a small update for all of you - we are sheltering with family for the storm at higher ground. Hopefully we will come out on the other side of this storm safe and sound!

This weekend is our Yoga at the Brewery for Community Organizations Active in a Disaster or COAD. You can learn more about them through the link below. In light of what we are all experiencing right now, my hope is to still see you all on Sunday - but this is all determined by Mother Nature, and how we all fare in this storm. I will keep you posted! Until then, get acquainted with COAD and the work they do here in Charlotte County after a disaster such as Hurricane Milton! Stay safe, and see you all on the other side! 💜🙏

Welp, here in Charlotte County we find ourselves again in a pickle of the wake of a natural disaster. 🌫💨🌊⛈

Many parts of Charlotte County have been devastated - and so many have lost so much. I'm not really sure that I have the words to express the heaviness, grief, and sadness that we are dealing with now just past 2 years since Hurricane Ian ripped through here with a vengeance. Things are complicated, messy and really challenging right now for so many here.

I wanted to share this website - this is a Charlotte County based group that pools resources and makes sure to get this out into the world in a streamlined way, so that this info gets to the people that need it faster. Be sure to share, and use these resources as we rebuild and heal. Support your local businesses if you can - they are hurting as well - and donate your time and resources if you have any to spare. We all could use a helping hand, no matter what that looks like. Take care of each other 💜🙏

Today is International Day of Peace. 🕊️☮️✌🏼

Given the state of international affairs, this year’s theme of Cultivating a Culture of Peace seems appropriate. So today, I encourage you to maybe spend 3 minutes and think about how YOU can create a culture of peace in your own world- and maybe, just maybe, that small gesture of compassion will create ripples that can be felt everywhere. 🌎

Everything we do, say, and think can resonate out into the world. On the off chance that I might sound a little odd- every action, word and thought carries an energy. What kind of energy are you carrying or sending out into the universe? Are they creating ripples of peace? 🤔

Take just a moment to honor what this day represents. 25 official years of celebrating what unity and peace can do to help people all over the world. 🙏🏼💜

Everyday, I am amazed by this community.

While we had a smaller group, the energy was palpable. We gathered, moved mindfully, and honored our military community by showing up for the Exalted Warrior Foundation and Charlie Foxtrot Brewing. We raised $282 - which will be a huge help to continue the efforts of Annie Okerlin and her team at the Exalted Warrior Foundation! Deep bow to all of you that showed up- and for Annie for joining us! What a fantastic day. 💜🧘🏻‍♀️
