The Fred Lang Foundation, the fundraising arm of Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC), recently presented CBHC with a check for $84,000 to support vital mental health and recovery services in the Charlotte County community. These funds will help sustain programs such as the Children’s Community Action Team and contribute to the construction of the Serenity Pond Outpatient Recovery Pavilion, set to open in 2026.

We are deeply grateful to the Fred Lang Foundation for its unwavering commitment and generous support in advancing hope, healing, and recovery for those we serve.

Veterans Court is officially in session in Charlotte County!

This specialty court is designed to support veterans who have become involved in the justice system and are facing challenges such as substance use, mental health struggles, or the lingering impact of trauma from their service. Coming home after deployment can be incredibly difficult. Some veterans struggle to adjust to civilian life, especially if conditions like PTSD or traumatic brain injury go untreated.

Veterans Court connects these individuals with the treatment, resources, and accountability they need to heal, rebuild their lives, and return to being strong and active members of our community.

We are proud to help ensure that those who served us receive the support they deserve.

Meet Barbara Jarvis, our dedicated HR Coordinator!

Before joining us, Barbara spent over 16 years in the newspaper industry working in advertising before finding her true passion in Human Resources. Her HR journey began at WDKY FOX56 in Lexington, KY, where she lived for two decades and raised her family. After moving to Florida, she took a position in a pediatrician’s office before landing an HR role at the YMCA, commuting daily from Port Charlotte to Venice! Eventually, Barbara found her way to CBHC, where she says she’s “truly found her people.”

Barbara says she looks forward to continuing her journey at CBHC “until I retire.”

We’re so grateful for her heart, creativity, and dedication to our mission every day.
