Shirley JoAnn Williams

Shirley JoAnn Williams, 79, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Mulberry Square.

She was born March 18, 1946 to George and Shirley (Pierce) Reitz in Reynoldsville.

Shirley was a member of the Big Run Presbyterian Church. She owned and operated several personal care homes in the area. Most recently she worked at the Community Center for the past 10 years. Shirley was always willing to help where she was needed. She was an avid Steelers fan. Most of all she loved working at the community center and visiting with her friends and family.

Shirley is survived by a son Clyde R. Beck, Jr. (Amie), Punxsutawney, a grandson Casey R. Beck (Micah), OK, four great grandchildren and her lifelong friend Shirley Huey-Bougher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Russell J. Butson, and two brothers, John Tabacsko and Butch Pierce.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Pastor Chris Brooks officiating.

Kenneth E. Troutman, 79, of Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Valier, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born May 24, 1946 to Boyd and Blanche (Blose) Troutman in Punxsutawney.

Ken attended Punxsutawney Area High School. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. In 1969 he moved to Youngstown, Ohio and started working for General Motors Lordstown plant and worked for General Motors 35 years before his retirement in 2005. Ken was a car enthusiast who liked attending car shows. He also enjoyed outdoor activities but most of all Ken loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra (Henry) Troutman, a son Stacy E. Troutman and wife Cris, Youngstown, a daughter Ginger L. Henry, DuBois, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a sister Marian L. Smith, Punxsutawney, a brother William B. Troutman and wife Robin, Punxsutawney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters; Joyce Loretta Troutman, Twila Baun, Jean Gaston, Kay Lake, Viola Christian, and Ruth Kaylor, and a brother Robert Troutman.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM and also from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM with Rev. Janet Chiplis officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.

Jerry Lee McAdoo, 80, of Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 surrounded by his family at his home.

He was born February 16, 1945 to James LeRoy Riddle and Dorothy McAdoo in Homer City.

Jerry was a member of the First Church of God, Punxsutawney. He was a 1964 graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School. He married his high school sweetheart Judy Kay Shaffer on January 7, 1967. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage together.

Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He then worked for FEMCO Machine for 40 years. He loved his fellow co-workers and many became good friends. Jerry enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, and working in his yard. Over the years he helped numerous friends and family with many miscellaneous projects. Jerry was a man who was known to always stay busy.

He is survived by his wife Judy McAdoo, Punxsutawney, three children; Dr. James McAdoo and wife Amaryllis, Weston, FL, Jackie (McAdoo) Neufeld and husband Dr. Todd Neufeld, Punxsutawney, and Joey McAdoo and fiancé Darcy Wazelle, Punxsutawney, fourteen grandchildren; Christian McAdoo and wife Christina, TN, Eden McAdoo, Jordan McAdoo, Logan McAdoo, all of Oil City, Dawson and Keagan Neufeld of Punxsutawney, Julia and Abby McAdoo, of Punxsutawney, Jacqueline, Katherine, and Samantha Murray, all of Weston, FL, Jaden and Jalynn Waroquier, and Mason Wazelle, all of Punxsutawney, one great grandchild, Emilia Lucia McAdoo, a brother, Art McAdoo, of Hollidaysburg, and two sisters; Linda Meckley and husband Bob, Smithport and Connie Sunderland, Punxsutawney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, funeral services will be private.

Interment will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., of Punxsutawney has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Susan M. Christian, 59, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 with her family by her side at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

She was born November 8, 1966 to Frank and Louise (Fox) Vandervort in Bedford.

Susan was a 1984 graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School. She was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles, F.O.E. 1234. She worked at various restaurants throughout the area, most recently working as a cook at the Anchor Inn. Susan was an avid Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to anything by Elvis. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and her K9 companion Precious.

She is survived by her husband Jim Christian, Punxsutawney, a daughter Shealynn M. O’Harah and husband Andrew, Big Run, two grandchildren, Jaxson L. and Natalie O’Harah, two sisters; Sonia Dixon and husband Bill, Clearfield and Sheila Hartless and husband Ronnie, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Amber R. Zeedick.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Shirley Mae (Straitiff) Miller, 75, of Mercer, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2025, at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, Pennsylvania.

She was born March 22, 1950 to Leonard and Sarah (Geer) Straitiff in Brookville.

She was a graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School. She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, Mercer. Shirley worked at Rolo Jenson, then went on to become a nurse’s aide working at Jefferson Manor. After moving to Mercer, she drove a van for Watson’s, transporting handicapped children to school and other various activities. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and collecting snowmen and dolls. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kenneth L. Miller, Mercer, two sons; Brian M. Marshall and wife Bobbie, Coolspring and Christopher Marshall and wife Theresa, Halifax, PA, two step-sons; Eric Miller, Sharon, and Joel Miller, Farrell, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Marilyn McGinnis and husband Ed, Punxsutawney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Richard Straitiff.

Pearl LaRue Bubb, 85, of Rossiter passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.

She was she was born September 21, 1940 to David and Bertha (Salsgiver) Pearce in Hillman.

LaRue was a member of Steffey Chapel Church. She was a homemaker and loved her family.

She enjoyed gardening, writing poems, cooking for her family, music, and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard L. Bubb, Sr., Rossiter, three children, Richard L. Bubb, Jr. and wife Becky, Punxsutawney, Melodie L. Brink, Rossiter, and Dianna F. Manners and husband Steven “Gus”, Stanton, four grandchildren, Jacob Brink (Ashley), Paul L. W. Manners (Kate), Eric S. Manners (Sabrina), and Luke D. Manners (Jess), seven great grandchildren, Paitlyn and Cooper Brink, and Phalen, Ally, Violet, Elizabeth and Rory Manners, her sisters Betty J. Ingram, Clearfield, and Laura Faye Bartlebaugh and husband Olin, Punxsutawney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Michael Brink, two brothers and two sisters, Orie Pearce, Dorothy States, Anna Gibson, and Harvey “Vern” Pearce.

Interment will take place at Devers Cemetery.

She was born April 7, 1988 to Charles R. Lyons and Bonnie (Schindler) Bush in State College.

Diana was a 2007 graduate of Purchase Line High School.

She enjoyed Diamond Art, caring for her mother and going for walks. She was a very devoted mother to her children and she loved taking care of and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Nevaeh and La’Riyah Harriott, her mother Bonnie Bush (Darrel), Sykesville, her father Charles Lyons (Jean), OH, three brothers, Christopher Lyons (Angella), Big Run, Edward Lyons, Oil City, and Travis Lyons, OH, a niece, Shania Lyons, grandmothers Hazel Walker, OH, and Twila Bush and numerous aunts and uncles.

Diana was preceded in death by a son, LaShawn Harriott, her children’s father Richard Harriott, her grandparents, Charles and Donna Lyons, and an uncle Dick Henry.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the Mahaffey Christian Alliance Church, 503 East Main Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757, with Pastor Tom Brink officiating.
