🌟 Staff Spotlight: Jennifer Melville, Director of Community Relations 🌟
We’re excited to introduce you to Jennifer Melville, Director of Community Relations (DCR) at Deer Ridge Memory Care!

Jennifer’s passion for senior care began with her grandmother Dory’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s and the loving Adult Family Home that cared for her to the very end. That experience continues to inspire Jennifer’s work helping families through this challenging journey.
She holds a B.A. in English and an MBA in Strategic Leadership, along with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, blending creativity with operational excellence. Jennifer brings years of marketing experience to the team and is a former journalist widely published in outlets such as Folio Weekly, Focus on the Family, EU Jacksonville, and more.

Outside of work, Jennifer is a watercolor artist with a passion for creativity. She enjoys painting, decorating, hiking, traveling, cooking, gardening, and is an avid reader and Broadway enthusiast.

Jennifer and her husband of 21 years live in Bonney Lake and have raised four children—now in their late teens and early 20s. A proud Navy Veteran family, they've lived all over the world.

Our Dementia Support Group meets at Deer Ridge Memory Care on Saturday, October 18th at 2:00 pm.
This month, we’re welcoming Julie Hyres, Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association, who will be presenting:
✨ “Communicating Effectively: Communication Tips for Every Stage of Dementia” ✨
If you haven’t attended our support group before, this is a wonderful opportunity to start. You’ll learn helpful strategies, meet others on a similar journey, and leave with tools to better connect with loved ones living with dementia.
Please share this event with anyone who could benefit—our doors are open to the community. 💜

We walk for our residents, their families, and everyone touched by Alzheimer’s and dementia. This is more than just a walk—it’s a day of hope, remembrance, and community.
