This week, Joanna Marrero, UCP's Inclusion and Advocacy Manager, addressed the crowd at the Capitol supporting 211, the state’s emergency hotline, on its 50th Anniversary.

We shared this story about our food pantry, Bette’s Bounty:
We recently helped a newcomer in our community during the government shutdown. Her SNAP benefits were suspended, leaving her with no food. She didn’t know what resources were available, so she called 211. Because of that call, she was connected to our food pantry and was able to put food on her table during an incredibly stressful time.

We are thankful for our partnership with the state’s emergency hotline, they help us cast a wide net to offer much-needed meals to people with disabilities and their families. https://ow.ly/jIhy50YexV0
