💚 It’s Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month! 💚

At UCP of Eastern CT, we’re proud to stand alongside individuals and families impacted by cerebral palsy, raising awareness, promoting inclusion, and supporting independence every day.

Did you know? Cerebral palsy is the most common motor disability in childhood, affecting movement, muscle tone, and posture—but every individual’s abilities and needs are unique.
This month, we were honored to be part of the Team Colton Fundraiser, helping raise funds for technology that enables inclusive play for ALL children. Because every child deserves the chance to play, connect, and thrive.

March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. At UCP of Eastern CT, we see what’s possible when people have the right supports. Through our programs — day, employment, community inclusion, recreation & assistive technology — children and adults with developmental disabilities are building skills, friendships, and independence.

🧦Every year on March 21, people around the world celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 was chosen because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome, and the karyotype of those chromosomes even looks a bit like mismatched socks.

We proudly join this global movement to advocate for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people with Down syndrome in our schools, communities, and across the world.
