People with no emotional intelligence will believe anything they’re told about you without ever hearing your side of the story. They’ll fight battles they know nothing about. They’ll act cold toward you based on someone else’s narrative.

In families, this is called triangulation — pulling a third person into a conflict to turn them against you.

Outside the family, it shows up in other forms:
Smear campaigns.
Character assassination.
Reputation sabotage.
Gossip-based manipulation.

Different names, same intention:
to isolate you, control the narrative, and make others see you through their lens.

But worry not, beloved.
Because if someone can believe a version of you they never confirmed with you…they were never your people to begin with.

Boundaries aren’t about distance — they’re about clarity.
