Since I opened, I have had a cancelation policy in place. This is strictly to protect my business and my family. I am not able to fill the canceled appointment at a last minute's notice, but I can fill the appointment if there is at least 24 hours notice. I have several people waiting over a month, and at times 6 weeks plus to get in for an appointment. I had to stop accepting new clients beginning May 1st due to everyone having to wait so long for appointments. Along with those that are wanting to schedule another massage after their appointment in 3-4 weeks. I am so grateful and blessed for this being the case. I appreciate all of the ladies and gentlemen who have, by word of mouth, made this business a real dream come true right here in our small community.
With this being said, in the last month, there have been an increased number of cancelations within 24 hours of the appointment time. There have also been an increased number of cancelations after the appointment time has already began, and no-showing appointments.(3 this past week and 4 the week prior, 3 of which were all on the same day!) Within my business I have tried to be very understanding and forgiving of situations, lenient of those with emergencies, and those using the statement "Oh, I forgot that was today, I won't be able to be there today."
Appointment reminders are sent through my booking system 72 hours and 48 hours prior to the appointment via email and text messages, I can see when the messages are sent. In the email sent, there is a link to cancel the appointment. Feel free to use that link along with the option of calling or texting to cancel an appointment.
The policy previously in place has been 35% of the scheduled session or $50 which ever is greater. As of today, July 1, 2023, my cancelation policy will be changing! From this point forward all canceled appointments will be charged the full price of the appointment missed or canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. Payment is expected at the time the of the canceled appointments. All no-show appointments will be expected to pay for the missed session and prepayment for all appointments will be paid at the time of booking. If a gift card or certificate is being used for the session it will be voided in lieu of payment.
This is not a decision that has come easy and is not pointed at any one situation. Where there is a problem, the problem must be resolved. As a small business, the overhead does not stop because of cancelations.
