MARPE is typically used when an adult or older teen has a narrow palate and needs significant palatal expansion. It's especially effective for patients who have stopped growing and have structural issues that traditional expanders can’t address effectively. It’s also helpful for treating posterior crossbites, crowded teeth, or other bite problems linked to a narrow upper jaw.

Advantages of MARPE:

-It is less invasive compared to traditional surgical methods for expanding the palate.
-It can work in adults, whereas traditional palate expanders are typically more effective in younger patients whose bones are still growing.
