Assistive technology is about far more than basic needs; it is the foundation for participation, independence, safety, and dignity. It is the difference between simply surviving and truly thriving. , Wisconsin’s AT Act Program and Society's Assets support access to assistive technology.
Pictured here is the Revital Eyes Support Group using different adaptive kitchen technology at The Teaching Kitchen in Kenosha. On the steel kitchen island are items for those with low-vision or are blind. There is an audible liquid measurer, measuring cups designed to visually depict the fractions they represent, a countertop induction range with bump dots, and an ABiSee Eye-Pal Solo audible text reader just to name a few. If you are interested in a demonstration of one of these items, call Society's Assets at 800-378-9128.
