Saint (St) Albans Sanatorium is a historical facility that began life in 1892 as a Lutheran boys' school.

The school closed in 1911 and reopened in 1916 as an institution to treat the mentally ill. 120+ year old abandoned mental hospital with stories of dark phantoms, apparitions and all sorts of haunts! Please, see our website for more information on public and private events!

Enigmacons returns to St Albans Sanatorium for annual paranormal conference and investigation on April 18, 2026!

Event Schedule:
Doors open at 10:30am to visit with teams, speakers, and vendors!

11:00 am until 12:00 Noon: Tour of facility- if you haven't been to St Albans Sanatorium before or want to learn more about the building, this is a must see!

Speakers set up in Skylight Hallway

12:00 noon until 1:00 pm: Dennis Estlock will speak- Be sure to ask him about the Cabin on 360 and the Civil War history that surrounds that area. Dennis also hosts his own paranormal conference on May 15th, Cabin-con.

1:00 pm until 2:00 pm: hear from Sean and Courtney of Hill City Paranormal. Open minded and experienced in the paranormal, they can have a lively discussion most any topic.

2:00 pm until 3:00 pm: Miranda Young will speak- Be sure to ask her about the Historic Scott County Jail and the historic town of Rugby. Both are very active!

3:00 pm until 4:00 pm: Pat Bussard O'Keefe. Pat has written many books about the paranormal and is an impressive photographer. She also hosts an amazing podcast.

4:00 pm until 5:00 pm: accomplished actor James Stokes will speak and entertain you- His credits include shows such as Snapped, Mark of a killer and Stranger Things.

5:00 pm until 6:00 pm: an exciting Panel Discussion! This interactive session will wrap up our daytime conference with these guys.....

Panel Speakers - James Brady, Steve Dills, Copperhead, Allen Marston, Scott Sukel, and Adam Bonnett. Each have many years of experience in the paranormal field and are ready to discuss your questions and their own experiences.

Finally, join us for a paranormal investigation of St Albans Sanatorium with participating speakers from 8:00 pm until 1:00 am, as part of the Enigmacons experience!

We're just beginning our 2026 calendar year of events so you haven't missed much, YET!

Previous experience not required- we'll chat about what volunteering at St Albans Sanatorium entails and discuss details of fun stuff coming up soon.

** Must be at least 13 years of age to volunteer. Parent/Guardian is required to bring photo ID & attend orientation with prospective volunteers 13-17 years of age. Parent/Guardian is also required to volunteer with minors 13 - 15 years of age. **

Tickets for our March 28th Flashlight Tour & Investigation are now available.

Flashlight Tour Tickets $20
Registration 4:30PM
Tour 5PM-6:30PM

Investigation Tickets $35 per person
Investigation Registration begins at 6:30PM
Investigation 7PM-12AM

We recommend a flashlight, comfortable walking shoes (closed toe required), and any investigative equipment you're wanting to use (for investigation participants).

Our volunteers will be guiding visitors through the building for both the tour and investigation.

Please dress according to the weather as the building is not climate controlled.

All tickets must be purchased in advance online and are will call night of the event no physical tickets are mailed.
**MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER FOR INVESTIGATION- UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE (16 & 17) MUST HAVE PARENT/GUARDIAN PRESENT.
**CLOSED TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER THE BUILDING**

St. Albans Sanatorium – Now Booking Private Investigations for the 2026 Season

St. Albans Sanatorium is pleased to announce that we are now accepting reservations for private paranormal investigations for the 2026 season. We welcome both experienced investigation teams and groups seeking a private, immersive paranormal experience.

Booking Rates
Thursdays & Sundays: $850
Fridays & Saturdays: $1,000

A 50% security deposit is required at the time of booking. A confirmation email will be sent within 48 hours detailing your scheduled date and important information for your investigation. If your selected date becomes unavailable, your reservation will be canceled and your deposit fully refunded.

The remaining balance is due 21 days prior to your investigation. An invoice will be emailed for final payment.

Additional Details
Rates include up to 10 investigators
Up to 5 additional investigators may be added:
$85 per person (Thursdays & Sundays)
$100 per person (Fridays & Saturdays)
Additional participants are payable at check-in
Minimum age: 16
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian for the duration of the event

All equipment must be packed and teams must exit the building by 3:00 AM

Restroom facilities available
Break area equipped with refrigerator/freezer and microwave
Heated break area during winter months
Power access throughout approximately 90% of the building
Wi-Fi access provided
