A year ago I left my regular 8-5. Burned out, tired, and second guessing a profession that I loved because I felt like I wasn’t helping anyone but corporate to make another $.

Fast forward a year. I stepped out in faith to open my own practice. Convicted that there was a better way to treat and provide care. Knowing in my heart that I could do better and provide care that helped people feel better and move better faster; returning them to what they love and want to do.

I can say that it hasn’t been easy. When people recover better they get discharged quicker, and in my experience they don’t have to come back. Making it difficult to keep the schedule full at first! But, I see them at the store, on the field, and on the court loving and enjoying life again, and it makes the stress worth it. Convincing people to choose a new practice and sole practitioner takes a lot of advertising and referrals and networking. But it’s worked and we’ve been successful.

One of those stories is pictured below. Some of the most fun treatment sessions have been with this young lady. Madi loves softball and when she was sidelined due to a labrum injury, her and her mom reached out because she was unable to maintain a squat position in the sport she loves. But more than that she couldn’t sit in class, couldn’t sleep due to discomfort, unable to ride in a car for any length of time. We were looking at 10-12 weeks of rehab to avoid surgical intervention. After assessment of weaknesses and goal setting we got to work. Madi worked hard and bought in to every session. Last week she was able to return to the basketball court for off season fun without pain or limitation. She can squat (and duck walk) without pain, swing a bat, run, sleep, and live her every day life. This was 7-8 weeks post eval.

Hard work, daily treatment updates and progression, one on one for an hour. Thats the difference you’ll see.
