Therapy Skill of the Month!

Box Breathing is a specific type of breath work. It uses slow, intentional breathing to help activate the body’s relaxation response and refocus the mind.

We love breath work for new parents because it can be done almost anywhere at anytime—while pumping, breastfeeding, or rocking the baby. Or right now! 💜

When practicing breath work, don’t worry if your mind wanders or you get distracted. Notice that you’ve become sidetracked and simply come back to the breath.

Like many other disorders, PMADs cause symptoms ranging from mild to severe, but regardless of symptom intensity, PMADs are highly treatable. If you or someone you know might be suffering from a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder, Anchor Perinatal Wellness offers a free screening clinic to help people find the level of care they need.

At Anchor, we offer IOP and outpatient therapy and have strong relationships with inpatient providers should someone need that level of care.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or pelvic lining. This tissue still acts like the lining of the uterus during a menstrual cycle, meaning it thickens, breaks down, and bleeds, but because it grows outside the uterus, it can lead to inflammation, scar tissue, severe pain, and sometimes fertility challenges.

While endometriosis can be difficult, treatments and support can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
