Patients are learning about ultra-minimally invasive carpal tunnel release with ultrasound guidance and VOTING WITH THEIR FEET. (I know, gross! 🤢 Dr. Nelson does NOT take care of feet.) But he does approve of the use of feet to bring patients to THE BONE & JOINT SURGERY CLINIC for the BEST carpal tunnel care in the state ...in the region ... in the NATION !! This kind gentleman drove over three hours for his bilateral in-office release. He'll be back to work full duty within the week as a heavy technician at a hospital.

How great is this? I will often ask patients about prior procedures and who performed them. When they can't remember the name of their prior surgeon, I will ask them, "Are you going to remember me?" (it's a joke!) But some patients not only remember you, they go out of their way to show their appreciation. Even (gasp) a handwritten note, a method of communication I love. We may complain nonstop about the state of our healthcare system but when comes down to it, have the best job evahhh. www.raleighupperex.com

Bob describes his experience with bilateral ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release.

I wish I could attribute all of this good outcome to technology, to minimally invasive carpal tunnel release with real-time ultrasound guidance.

But I cannot really.

The main reason he had a good outcome and was back at work TWO DAYS after his bilateral carpal tunnel releases as an auto parts delivery driver... AT 80 YEARS OLD!!!....is because of mindset and character.

He is a well adjusted human being, a very productive member of society, who finds meaning in fulfillment in a hard days work and a job well done.

Dorsal ganglion cysts of the wrist are often called “occult“ because they are often too small to see. One trick is to bend the wrist down, do you see a prominence there? Does it hurt when you do push-ups or lift weights? It is probably one of these bad boys. When excision is performed, I take great care to excise the entire dorsal capsule, there’s also a tiny nerve branch called the posterior interosseous nerve. This nerve sends pain signals from the wrist joint to the brain, and since we’re already staring at it, we just remove it completely! (Never fear, it does not control any muscles or skin feeling to any fingers).
