What’s in your medicine cabinet? 👀💊

Unused or expired medications can pose a real risk if they fall into the wrong hands. This , take a few minutes to clean them out and dispose of them safely. 🗑️

Medication take-back bins are one of the easiest and safest ways to get rid of prescriptions and over-the-counter meds — helping protect your family and your community.

📍 Drop-off locations include WakeMed Cary Hospital (front entrance bin) or find a site near you.

Pawsitive mental health boost, coming right up 🐾💙

Our pet volunteer pups do more than just look cute (though they’re very good at that). They bring comfort during tough moments, help ease anxiety, spark smiles and create meaningful connections for patients, families and our team members.

Sometimes it’s a wagging tail, a quiet cuddle or a quick visit that makes all the difference. 🐶

Small changes can make a big impact 🌎💚

This Earth Day, WakeMed teams turned intention into action at our Raleigh Campus — cleaning out desks, workstations, and filing cabinets to securely shred documents and reduce paper waste. 🗄️✨

Protecting patient information while cutting down on waste is a win for both people and the planet. 🌱

Looking for simple ways to make a difference? Try eating more plant-based meals, reducing food and plastic waste, and choosing local, seasonal foods. 💚 Learn more at 🔗 https://ow.ly/lMZp50YALBM

Young, ambitious and determined to succeed, Karen Nolan began volunteering at WakeMed in high school. The role had prestige — a large hospital system, a position working directly with patients. It looked great on a college admissions application.
😊
What Karen didn't initially realize is that what began as another stressor in her quest to success, turned into an existential shift in how she saw work. 👩‍⚕️

OT = Occupational Therapy… and they’re everywhere you need them. 👋❤️

This April, we’re celebrating the incredible occupational therapists across WakeMed—especially in Acute Care, where recovery begins from day one. From helping patients regain strength after surgery to supporting everyday tasks like sitting up, eating or getting dressed, OT plays a vital role in every step forward.

Because getting back to what you love starts with the smallest wins. 💪
