We are deeply troubled by the recent deaths and widespread harm associated with federal immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota. Oak City Psychology acknowledges the profound pain, trauma, and fear these events have created, as well as the lasting psychological and emotional impacts that will follow.

We once again affirm, as mental health professionals, the right of every person to live without fear of violence or coercive force, regardless of immigration status or political affiliation. We also reaffirm our commitment to providing accessibility and connection to support for those experiencing fear, loss, and uncertainty. Our practice has always and will always prioritize safety for all individuals.

Happy Wednesday everyone! We're back to share what we have been eating to continue normalizing eating ALL types of food 💛 With Thanksgiving last week, it seems right to highlight all the Thanksgiving food we love: turkey, pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce, just to name a few!

Which is correct: dressing vs stuffing?

Thanksgiving often holds mixed feelings, meanings, and memories. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, know that those feelings are valid and you are not alone. Thanksgiving carries a history of violence committed through colonization and experienced by Indigenous people, something that we hold at the front of our minds. We approach this holiday with awareness and respect for Indigenous communities. Take care to honor your needs, boundaries, and resilience today.
