At Golden Harmony, part of what makes our work so meaningful are the bonds that form between clients and companions.

This month, the special connection between Elizabeth and her companion Jen is in the spotlight.

It's a relationship built on trust, humor, and genuine care.

Originally from western New York, Elizabeth moved to North Carolina for its warmer weather after a career as a trauma nurse.

When we asked her to reflect on her time with Jen, she shared how much she values the reliability and support Jen brings.

“She always shows up, and she’s always on time,” Elizabeth said.

“She’s attentive, communicative, and not judgmental. Knowing she’s around means I know things aren’t getting out of hand. Even the dog likes her!”

Elizabeth says they consider themselves “very fortunate” to have Jen in their lives.

This week, in honor of Veterans Day, we had the privilege of distributing American flag lapel pins, decorating pillowcases alongside senior living residents to send to our troops, and sharing a heartfelt breakfast to celebrate and honor those who served—along with their families.

We had a souper time this Monday at Hayes Barton Place!

Residents were treated to Anne Simon's Just Soups — delicious, homemade, and perfect for the crisp fall weather.

Our very own Ashley Fletcher Vaughan brought the fun with Bingo featuring soup-themed trivia, and the room was filled with laughter and smiles.

This past Saturday, Golden Harmony Home Care proudly joined the Parkinson’s Foundation for Moving Day — a powerful event that brings our community together to honor those affected by Parkinson’s disease.

We walked and celebrated the power of movement — a vital tool in managing Parkinson’s symptoms — alongside hundreds of passionate supporters.

Golden Harmony is honored to serve as a Community Partner in Parkinson’s Care, equipping all our caregivers with specialized training to support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.

We are committed to delivering compassionate, informed support to those living with Parkinson’s and their families.

We stand united in raising awareness and supporting the critical work of the Parkinson’s Foundation.

This month we're highlighting an especially inspiring relationship — the connection between Tom, his wife Marie, and their companion, Kristen.

When Tom and Marie were looking for extra support for Tom during this season of life, a friend shared with them the work of Golden Harmony.

They've since found the exact support they needed and more in their companions, especially Kristen.

From their very first visit, Tom and Kristen clicked. “She’s been such a wonderful support for both of us,” Marie shared. “We enjoy talking with her, and she’s helped us through a very trying situation.”
