This month's Golden Connection is Teresa and Bob. ✨

Before joining Golden Harmony, Teresa served as an Activity Director across independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities, following earlier healthcare work in quality assurance in Massachusetts.

After leaving a high-stress role, she found her true calling in companion care, where she enjoys building meaningful relationships with clients and families.

She shares a special bond with Bob, grounded in shared values, humor, and life experiences.

Their mornings are filled with laughter, pool games, and walks, making time pass quickly. Bob says Teresa reminds him of his favorite Uncle Harry from Ireland.

At Golden Harmony, part of what makes our work so meaningful are the bonds that form between clients and companions.

This month, the special connection between Elizabeth and her companion Jen is in the spotlight.

It's a relationship built on trust, humor, and genuine care.

Originally from western New York, Elizabeth moved to North Carolina for its warmer weather after a career as a trauma nurse.

When we asked her to reflect on her time with Jen, she shared how much she values the reliability and support Jen brings.

“She always shows up, and she’s always on time,” Elizabeth said.

“She’s attentive, communicative, and not judgmental. Knowing she’s around means I know things aren’t getting out of hand. Even the dog likes her!”

Elizabeth says they consider themselves “very fortunate” to have Jen in their lives.

This week, in honor of Veterans Day, we had the privilege of distributing American flag lapel pins, decorating pillowcases alongside senior living residents to send to our troops, and sharing a heartfelt breakfast to celebrate and honor those who served—along with their families.
