Wake Tech’s Dental Hygiene program prepares students to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate dental hygiene care for individual patients. We are a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree Program. Graduates of this program may be eligible to take national and state/regional examinations for licensure which are required to practice dental hygiene. Employment opportunities include dental offices, clinics, schools, public health agencies, industry, and professional education.
We also have an on-campus clinic that accepts adults and children age 4 and older for cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and radiographs. Patients are screened to determine eligibility and treatment needed. Some patients may not be appropriate for treatment in the clinic, and appointments cannot be guaranteed; availability varies by semester, according to the number of dental hygiene students enrolled.
