The theory behind it is that water has many properties that give it the ability to heal:

💧Water can store and carry heat and energy.
💧Water can dissolve other substances, such as minerals and salts.
💧Water cannot hurt you, even if you are sensitive to your surroundings.
💧Water is found in different forms, such as ice, liquid, or steam. Ice may be used to cool liquid used in baths and compresses at varying pressures or temperatures, and steam is used in steam baths or when breathing in.
💧Water can help blood flow.
💧Water has a soothing, calming, and relaxing effect on people, whether in a bath, shower, spray, or compress.
💧Exercise in water takes the weight off a painful joint while also providing resistance.

Simple ways to do this at home include contrast showering where you move from a hot shower for 1 minute to a cold shower for 1 minute and cycle through this several times.

Broccoli has so many health benefits. I bet you didn’t know just how good though…

To name a few, broccoli is a good source of fiber, vitamins B6, E B1, and A. It’s a source of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, protein, zinc, iron, and niacin. And that’s not the complete list!

Check out this easy and delicious way to add broccoli to any meal:

Ingredients
▶️3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
▶️2 heads of broccoli (1 1/4 pounds total), stems peeled and heads halved lengthwise
▶️1/2 cup water
▶️3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
▶️Pinch of crushed red pepper
▶️Salt and freshly ground black pepper
▶️2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Directions:
Step 1
In a large, deep skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the broccoli, cut side down, cover, and cook over moderate heat until richly browned on the bottom, about 8 minutes.

Step 2
Add the water, cover, and cook until the broccoli is just tender and the water has evaporated about 7 minutes.

Step 3
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil along with the garlic and the crushed red pepper and cook uncovered until the garlic is golden brown, about 3 minutes. Season the broccoli with salt and black pepper, drizzle with the lemon juice, and serve.

Be one in a Melon🍉🍈

Summertime is the perfect time to enjoy melons. They are the perfect sweet treat no matter the time of day. And there are so many types of melons to choose from.

Here is a fun way to enjoy melons this summer:

½ cup plain 2% reduced-fat Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice38 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Dash of crushed red pepper
⅔ cup honeydew melon balls
⅔ cup watermelon balls
⅔ cup cantaloupe balls
1 cherry radish, cut into thin slices
2 center-cut bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
12 small fresh basil leaves

Directions
Step 1
Spread yogurt in a circle on a large serving plate.

Step 2
Combine parsley, vinegar, oil, honey, lime juice, 1/8 teaspoon salt, black pepper, and red pepper in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add all melon balls and radish to bowl; toss gently.

Step 3
Using a slotted spoon, mound melon mixture on top of yogurt (reserve vinegar mixture). Sprinkle evenly with bacon and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons reserved vinegar mixture; discard remaining vinegar mixture. Sprinkle evenly with basil leaves.

Brain plasticity science is the study of a physical process. Gray matter can actually shrink or thicken; neural connections can be forged and refined or weakened and severed. Changes in the physical brain manifest as changes in our abilities. For example, each time we learn a new dance step, it reflects a change in our physical brains: new “wires” (neural pathways) that give instructions to our bodies on how to perform the step. Each time we forget someone’s name, it also reflects brain change — ”wires” that once connected to the memory have been degraded or even severed. As these examples show, changes in the brain can result in improved skills (a new dance step) or a weakening of skills (a forgotten name).
