Through your support and prayers, we were able to make a meaningful difference this holiday season in a community we dearly love.

Yesterday, our Dental Care Camp at the Dylan Jones Academy reached approximately 150 people with an extensive community impact. On Jamhuri Day, 28 dedicated volunteers gave their time to ensure families received dental extractions, cleanings, oral health education, hygiene kits, and clinical and nutrition screenings. Many went home with renewed confidence—and brighter smiles.

This work would not be possible without the generosity of our supporters and partners. Our research team is now compiling data to help inform policy proposals and strategies that strengthen primary health care, especially for rural and low-income communities.

We are grateful to the community, church leadership, school volunteers, medical teams, the County Government of Murang’a, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council, the Kenya Dental Association, and our U.S.-based donors and volunteers.

It truly takes a village. More photos and reports coming soon.

When I graduated from my medical program and began bedside care, one thing became clear—so much of what harms our communities happens long before people reach the hospital.

Heart disease. Diabetes. Cancer. COPD. Even HIV and TB.
Most of these conditions are connected to modifiable risk factors. But many don’t know this. They wait until the pain is unbearable… and by then, treatment is costly and options are limited.

Seeing this firsthand, I decided to dedicate my career to developing programs that strengthen primary health care access in places where little to none exists. That calling led me to begin promoting early disease detection, sharing health education, and mobilizing volunteers who shared the same heart for service.

Today, by God’s grace, we support community programs in North Carolina, Kenya, Uganda, and soon DRC Congo. We impact 3,000+ families every year. I never imagined we would get this far.

I’m deeply grateful to every church, partner, volunteer, and donor who believes in this mission. You make this work possible. ❤️

Our next goal: Medical & Dental Mobile Vans to reach underserved communities year-round.

This Giving Tuesday, please consider supporting through prayer + financial giving.
Every gift brings early care and hope closer to the communities that need it most. 🙏🏾✨

Happy new month, December!
We’re just 11 days away from our final event of the year, and our hearts are full of gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has supported our work across North Carolina, Kenya, and Uganda in 2025. ❤️🌍

This month, we’re focused on bringing essential dental care to students at the Dylan Jones Academy and their families—where access to dental services is extremely limited. Many wait until pain is unbearable or teeth begin to fall out before seeking help.

We believe oral health is primary health care, and it must be part of the journey toward Universal Health Coverage.

To make this event possible, we need your support. We’re raising funds to bring the Kenya Dental Association mobile van, giving our volunteers the equipment and space needed to provide life-changing care.

Inside the Community-Facing Oral Care Model Changing Families

The History of the toothbrush and toothpaste Oral hygiene — brushing, flossing, cleaning teeth — has existed for centuries. The first toothbrushes emerged in the late 1400s and early 1500s. Toothpaste was introduced only in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Despite this long history, in many parts of the world today, proper oral care remains a luxury. In Kenya, for example, traditional practices—like using natural chewing sticks (...

Learn how the Dylan Jones Academy is transforming primary health care by teaching children oral hygiene habits that improve nutrition, learning, and wellbeing.

New data from Murang’a shows a silent crisis:
Only 14% of parents clean their baby’s teeth,
Only 2% use a toothbrush,
And less than 1% of children have ever had a dental checkup.

This December, we’re stepping in to serve 500+ children and families in Kambirwa with:
🦷 Free cleanings & extractions
🦷 Oral hygiene kits
🦷 Education for parents

Every child deserves a pain-free smile.
You can help make it happen.

Across the years, we’ve brought the cost of dental care down from about $27 per person to just $8. And the only way we’re able to offer it free is because of donor giving.

Our programs grow from what we learn each year—what works, what families need most, and how we can keep improving care in every community we serve.

Our volunteers—made up of both local and global teams—step into some of the most arid areas with limited light, limited water, and no proper dental chairs, yet they still show up and give the best care possible.

This Christmas, you can help us offer this care to about 500 people.
Your support covers the supplies, transport, and everything needed to reach these families.

Are you looking to make a meaningful impact this holiday season? We welcome you to consider partnering with us.

Each year, we host a free Christmas event called “Santa at the DJA” in Kambirwa, Kenya.

This year, we are focusing on a need that has consistently emerged during our past events: 7 in 10 people in this community have never seen a dentist.
For approximately $20, you can help provide essential dental care for a family of three.

Your support can make a real difference.
Consider partnering with us this season of giving.

Join EquiHealth Global this December to transform oral health in Kambirwa, Kenya, offering essential dental care and education.

With the holidays around the corner, we’re reminiscing on these moments from last year’s Santa at the DJA celebration! 🎅✨

For the past 7 years, Santa has visited the Dylan Jones Academy in Kambirwa, Kenya — bringing joy, hope, and community. Beyond the celebration, our work in Kambirwa focuses on providing primary care, screening for chronic illnesses, and connecting patients to care through the local health system.

This year, one need stands out: dental care. 🦷
As we prepare for this year’s celebration, we hope to not only share joy but also offer teeth cleaning and extractions for families who need it most.

💙 Join us in making this holiday season a little brighter — one smile at a time.

On October 4th, in partnership with North Raleigh International Baptist Church (NRIBC), we hosted our final medical screening camp of the year along Sandy Forks Rd — reaching 54 families and powered by the dedication of 20+ amazing volunteers from across the state.

Our goal was to detect non-communicable diseases (NCDs) early and connect those who screened positive to ongoing care and follow-up support — because screening is just the beginning; access and continuity truly change lives. 💪🏾

Beyond the screenings, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and play with the children — a beautiful reminder that health and community go hand in hand. 🌻

We’re deeply grateful to our incredible partners and vendors from Duke Urgent Care, WMU-NC, Fairview Baptist Church (Statesville), and Fruitland Baptist Church (Hendersonville) for joining hands with us in service. We also appreciate the dedication and sacrifice from the undergraduate and graduate students from Duke University, UNC (Chapel Hill and UNC-G) and Wake Tech Community College.

Together, we’re building healthier communities — one screening, one smile, one connection at a time. 💫
