Okam Healthcare & Nurse Staffing is currently hiring CNA / Sitters for Weekends. You make your own schedule, work only when you want to work. We pay weekly, direct deposit and competitive wage . Job Description
The CNA / Sitter is responsible for providing one-on-one observation of a patient in the hospital under the direction of the Registered Nurse and assists the professional Nursing staff by providing direct observation of patients with behavioral changes such as suicidal, homicidal, combative, confused, distressed, dying, at risk of falling or in need of supervision in some other way.
•The sitter reports to the Charge Nurse on arrival to the unit.
•Must remain with the patient at all times unless there is relief.
•Notify the staff immediately of any changes in the patient’s condition or needs for assistance
•Sitter must document patient’s progress every 15 minutes
•Assist Nursing staff in provision of required feeding, positioning, needs, or mobility
•Sitters are not to sleep on duty.
•No use of personal cell phones or patients telephone for personal calls. If there is an emergency, sitter will notify the Charge Nurse for relief to make the phone call outside of the patient care area
•Sitters are not permitted to eat while in the patient’s room. A meal break will be provided.
Requirement:
•High School graduate or equivalency
•North Carolina CNA license
•Driver’s License
•Social Security Card
•BLS/ CPR issued by the American Heart Association
•Current TB test or Chest X-Ray
•MMR
•Titer
•Varicella
•Must pass background check
•Must pass drug testing
•CNA Competency test / skills checklist
Required education:
•High school or equivalent
Required license or certification:
•CNA, BLS, Immunization
