Meet Rahul Kamath, whose career in Health Economics is built on curiosity, teamwork and a desire to contribute to meaningful healthcare decisions.

Each day, Rahul works on systematic reviews, synthesizing reports and literature analysis — all tasks that demand precision and critical thinking. But what he values just as much as the work is the environment around him: supportive leadership, encouraging colleagues and a culture anchored in appreciation and balance.

Rahul believes that effective communication is essential, especially in virtual settings and that adapting to new AI‑driven tools helps teams work smarter. He enjoys interacting with clients and understanding the “how” and “why” behind each request — turning every conversation into a learning opportunity.

Outside work, Rahul draws inspiration from reading, traveling and exploring new hobbies. At the core of his personal philosophy is a simple belief: progress comes from continuous improvement, one small step at a time.

Meet Smitha, Senior Project Data Coordinator at Parexel 💙 Her journey is a reminder that a career break isn’t a setback — it can be the beginning of real growth.

When Smitha returned to the workforce in 2021, she was looking for a place that valued experience and supported professionals restarting their careers. At Parexel, she found exactly that: teammates who shared their knowledge, an environment where learning is encouraged and a culture built on collaboration and respect.

From re‑learning systems to coordinating data across multiple studies, Smitha steadily grew into her role — an experience shaped by resilience, curiosity and a belief that growth happens one step at a time.

Today, she mentors new colleagues, improves processes and helps ensure the data behind clinical trials is accurate and reliable. Her advice for anyone returning after a break: stay curious, embrace the details, ask questions and give yourself grace as you grow.

"We're breaking down silos and bringing teams together. That cross-functional approach, where everyone brings their unique insights, is what helps us deliver better and faster." 💡

Meet Holly Clark who has 20 years in clinical research from patients’ bedsides to operations leadership and has helped build the Parexel Precision Pathway, a framework that sets our teams up for success before trials even begin. 🎯

What does the Parexel Precision Pathway mean for our teams?

Greater organization when projects launch, fewer repeated conversations with sponsors and the data strategy and oversight framework are already in place, so every team member can focus on what matters: getting medicines to patients faster.⚡

"All hands are on deck to deliver for patients and customers," Holly says. That's the genuine collaboration you'll find at Parexel. ❤️

Holly shows what's possible when you bring your insights to a team that listens.

Today on , we honor the more than 300-400 million people worldwide living with rare diseases and the advocates working to transform their futures.

When Gvantsa Kvantaliani's daughter was diagnosed with Rett syndrome, she realized other Georgian families had shared experiences — isolation and uncertainty, resources unavailable in their native language and a community for support.

So she created one.

Working full-time as a clinician and university invited lecturer, Gvantsa spent her evenings translating scientific materials and building Georgia's first patient-led rare disease organization—a home for families seeking answers, connection and hope.

Today, Gvantsa brings her dual perspective as mother and medical professional to Parexel, where she works to help ensure clinical trials are accessible, equitable and designed with patient needs at the center.

This Rare Disease Day, we celebrate the strength of rare disease communities worldwide and the advocates driving change.

We're honored to collaborate with Finding Hope for Frizzle - Frrs1l to advance a lifesaving gene therapy for children with Frizzle (FRRS1L) disease.

This parent-led nonprofit has selected Parexel to provide regulatory and FDA Investigational New Drug (IND) support, as they work toward their goal of beginning clinical trials by September 2026.

FRRS1L is a devastating rare genetic disease that causes early-onset epilepsy, hyperkinetic movements, developmental delays and severe regression by age two. As we approach on Feb. 28, we're reminded of the urgency and importance of advancing treatments for the 100+ known Frizzle patients worldwide ─ and the 300-400 million people globally living with rare diseases who are fighting for treatments.

"The first word that comes to mind when I think about the moment of diagnosis is relief."

Today on National Caregivers Day, we honor caregivers like Gvantsa Kvantaliani. After a long diagnostic journey with her daughter, Gvantsa channeled her experience into action—founding Georgia's first patient-led rare disease organization and bringing her lived experience as both mother and doctor into her work in clinical trials.

At Parexel, Gvantsa focuses on ensuring clinical trials meet families' needs because she understands firsthand what families navigate every day. Read Part 1 of her story and stay tuned for more on Rare Disease Day. ⬇️

Can you share the moment when your daughter was diagnosed with Rett syndrome? How did that experience transform your perspective as a mother and a doctor?

▪️After a long, emotionally exhausting diagnostic journey, finally having a name for what we were facing felt like a heavy weight off my shoulders. As difficult as it was to hear, living in uncertainty was harder. I knew how critical early diagnosis is for guiding intervention, establishing a management plan and anticipating future needs.
▪️From a medical standpoint, the diagnosis deepened my commitment to the rare disease field—an area I had already been passionate about. But experiencing it as a mother transformed everything. It pushed me to be even more proactive, to search for knowledge beyond borders and to learn from those with the deepest expertise. I joined Rett Syndrome Europe, a patient advocacy group, and traveled to the Rett Expertise Center in Maastricht, Netherlands, because I needed guidance directly from experts.

How does your dual perspective—as a caregiver to a child with a rare disease and a clinical research professional—influence the way you approach drug development and clinical trial design?

▪️This dual lens reinforces the importance of designing trials that not only advance science but also deliver meaningful value to the rare disease community we aim to serve. Bridging these two perspectives enables me to advocate for protocols that are operationally feasible, ethically sound and aligned with the needs of both families and sponsors.
▪️Ultimately, my daughter—as well as the many rare disease patients and families I engage with through my advocacy work—reminds me every day why this work matters. They bring urgency, clarity and purpose to every project, ensuring that the research we conduct truly reflects what families need most.

What message would you share with other rare disease caregivers who are navigating their own journeys?

▪️You are not alone. This journey is heavy, but your strength is real—even on the days you don’t feel it. You are doing an extraordinary job in an extraordinary situation, and your voice matters more than you know.

Through our long-standing partnership with United Way Bengaluru, Parexel continues to improve lives and strengthen communities across India. This past week, our Chief Executive Officer, Peyton Howell, had the opportunity to witness the profound impact these initiatives have on people and their families.

What we see is hope restored, confidence built and futures being reshaped:

🤲 Opening the world to students who are visually impaired through AI‑enabled visual aids that help them learn and experience life with greater independence.

❤️ Giving children who are hard of hearing the gift of sound by helping to fund life‑changing cochlear implant surgeries, transforming their lives.

🚲 Supporting frontline healthcare workers by providing e‑bikes that reduce their travel burden and expand their reach to patients in rural areas in Karnataka, India.

🚗 Empowering women with new skills and new possibilities through driver’s license training that unlocks mobility, employment and personal freedom.

These are stories of dignity, opportunity and compassion -- and they reflect the heart of who we are.
