March is here and so is our next
🤍Member of the Month🤍 feature - meet Jenna!!
1. How long have you been a member at Barre-Up and what inspired you to take your first class?
✨I’ve been a member on and off since 2014 (there were a few gap years when I moved to Colorado). I signed up for a 2 week Groupon and convinced a work friend to come with me. We got hooked and became members after our trial was over.
2. What’s one class or workout move you never thought you’d enjoy, but now love?
✨2. POUND with .fitness - My first class was outside in the parking lot during the pandemic. I had no idea what was going on. I think I laughed the whole time because I was constantly going the opposite direction and flailing about. It takes a moment to catch on to the patterns but now I love it. The cardio bursts, squats, and hitting the ground are always a fun way to start my weekend.
3. What’s a favorite song that would hype you up in every class if you heard it?
✨Drop it (donde quieras) by or any remix to an early 2000s hip hop song. 🔥🔥
4. What’s something you’ve learned about yourself since joining?
✨4. I think my biggest takeaway since joining this studio is the messaging to honor my body where it’s at. I know as women, we put so much pressure on ourselves to look a certain way. Bodies change. Life circumstances change. I’m so grateful to be in a room with women who are genuinely there to show up for themselves and inspire others along the way.
5. When you’re not taking a class, where might we find you?
✨ If I’m not at class, I’m likely working. I wait tables at the downtown but, my husband and I just launched a small business a few months ago called - it’s a micro kitchen pizza shop focused on slow fermentation dough and quality ingredients. We’re super proud of it and have been so lucky to have had so much support from the BU community since starting it.

6. What’s a fun fact or hidden talent you’d like to share with our community?
✨I guess it would have to be that I taught myself how to sew during the covid shutdown. I loved it so much that I actually had a small business for a little while selling purses at local markets and on Etsy.
7. How has being a part of our studio/community impacted your wellness journey?
✨Being a part of this studio has kept me consistent on my wellness journey. I grew up playing sports and it’s always been important to me to be active. Life is a lot busier than it used to be so I don’t always get to prioritize fitness but, I can feel the difference when I do.
Thank you, Jenna! You are incredibly talented, inspiring, kind and to know you is to love you! 12 years and counting…❤️❤️
