Healing Transitions

Healing Transitions Healing Transitions a nonprofit organization that offers peer-based recovery services.

Healing Transitions has been providing peer driven long term residential services since January of 2001. During that time we have been very successful in empowering people who are homeless and suffer from substance use issues transition to a fulfilling life. Along with our community partners, we have been able to reduce Wake County homeless population by 25% even as the overall population in Wake

County has grown 45%. That constitutes an approximate 50% drop in the number of un-sheltered homeless individuals on our streets.

Rick came to us like so many parents do, wanting to fix what felt impossible to fix. But through our Family Support Group, led by Rhonda, he found something even more powerful than answers: connection, understanding, and a way forward.
Because of our Family Support Group, Rick discovered he didn’t have to carry the weight alone, and that’s what being Family Strong is all about.

If you want to read Rick’s full story, visit the Story of Healing section on our website. And if you believe in building this kind of support for families, consider making a gift today at healing-transitions.org/family-strong/. Your support helps ensure no one has to navigate this journey alone.

Because recovery is stronger when families are supported, too. Donate today to our Family Strong campaign and help us reach our $100K goal so that our participants and their loved ones can find the miracle of recovery. Visit healing-transitions.org/family-strong/

We’re excited to share a meaningful step forward in our community as part of our Family Strong Campaign!

This week, our Child and Family Resource Specialist, TJ, had a wonderful and productive meeting with Janine Eash from Marbles Kids Museum to explore reestablishing a strong partnership. Through this collaboration, we hope to create more opportunities for our participants to engage in fun, enriching museum experiences. And most importantly, spend quality time with their families in a welcoming space where memories can be made.

Because recovery doesn’t happen alone, it happens together. And through Family Strong, we’re building more moments that bring families closer every day. Donate today to our Family Strong campaign by visiting healing-transitions.org/family-strong/

Today we’re launching our annual Family Strong Campaign! Our goal this year is to raise $100K to support both our participants in recovery and the loved ones walking alongside them, because healing together builds the foundation for lasting recovery.

We’re kicking off with a powerful video featuring Rhonda and Larry, the mother-son duo behind Family Strong. When Larry was in active addiction, Rhonda turned her feelings of helplessness into action—supporting other families facing similar challenges.

Thanks to a generous donor, the first $20K raised will be matched—doubling the impact of every gift. Donate today at healing-transitions.org/family-strong/

Today, we broke ground on our newest project (and launched the public phase of its campaign), Forward Together, which will create 17 units of affordable, recovery housing for our women who have recently completed our long-term recovery program. This new project, just steps away from our Women's Campus, will create a community where single women, and single mothers in recovery can live side-by-side with their children while having a safe, affordable home that supports their recovery. Because when women are supported by their peers in a recovery environment and are able to live with their children, communities can move forward together towards a brighter future.

To everyone who donated and participated in our quiet phase of this campaign, thank you for helping us raise $10.9 of our $14M goal. To learn more and donate to help us raise the remaining $3.1M, visit forwardtogetherht.org.
