Healing Transitions a nonprofit organization that offers peer-based recovery services.

Healing Transitions has been providing peer driven long term residential services since January of 2001. During that time we have been very successful in empowering people who are homeless and suffer from substance use issues transition to a fulfilling life. Along with our community partners, we have been able to reduce Wake County homeless population by 25% even as the overall population in Wake County has grown 45%. That constitutes an approximate 50% drop in the number of un-sheltered homeless individuals on our streets.

Oakwood24 is THIS SATURDAY (11/22) at our new venue, Lakeside Retreats and we have some exciting news! Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we will be having a day-of (Saturday, 11/22) match of up to $10K. That means that any donation you make on that day will be DOUBLED!

While you don't have to be at Oakwood24 to participate in this day-of match, we hope you'll still come out to run or walk a few laps and experience all the new venue has to offer (ie. disc golf, live music, etc.). Visit healing-transtions.org/oakwood24/ to learn more!

Raleigh City Council has approved $2.2M in funding to support our Forward Together project! Our Women's Campus will be the site of this new project, which will create 17 affordable housing units for women participants who have completed our recovery program. Stay tuned for more information regarding this project as we get ready for our public launch!

A huge thank you to our faith community partner, Christian Faith Baptist Church for their generous donation which includewd 112 pairs of underewear, 54 t-shirts, 175 pairs of socks, and 37 coats. Because of your kindness, our participants can stay clean and warm as fall brings colder weather. Thank you so much!

Happy November! Our friends at Trophy Brewing Company are hosting their annual Trophy Trot on Thanksgiving Day (11/27) at 9AM. Regular registration gets you entry to the race in the beautiful Dix Park, a medal, and a beer at Trophy Brewing on Maywood Ave. after the race. The virtual option secures you a medal and donation to the amazing Healing Transitions. See you there!

Oakwood24 is right around the corner, happening on November 22 at our new venue, Lakeside Retreats! This year, in addition to the different race options, there will be more family-friendly activities such as: camping, fishing, disc golf, bluegrass bands, and picnics. Our second annual Freedom Harvest Dinner was filled to the brim with love, community, and delicious food. A huge thank you goes to renowned Chef Scott Crawford for dedicating his time and efforts to prepare an amazing menu for Our Village. His hard-work and talent led to the dinner generating over $180K in donations!

To all our event sponsors, those who donated to our live auction and raffle, the volunteers that handled everything from serving the delicious food to putting together beautiful centerpieces--THANK YOU. Because of your generosity, over 100 of our neighbors will receive a month of recovery. See you next year!
