Anyone remember playing the game Memory as a small child?
Here is an online version suitable for children 3+ that may help introduce your child to the equipment in the operating room.
Some images are familiar like a gumball machine and a toy grabber- fun things they have seen before.
Some of the images are new, like the EKG machine and a nurse wearing scrubs, a mask, and a scrub hat.
By mixing these familiar images with new images, my hope is that kids approach surgery day with curiosity and confidence instead of fear of the unknown.

"Secret's in the sauce." LOL.

Propofol may be the best medication ever. If you are not in healthcare or maybe do not know, this is a medication administered by anesthesia providers to help you fall asleep.

It works very quickly and continues to keep you asleep while it's being given in your IV. Once your provider stops the infusion, the sleepy effects of propofol wear off quickly too. Also helps with nausea.

I love how it works every time- just a matter of titration. 😁 I always win. Ha!

People under age 50 have been appearing increasingly at doctors’ offices in the past few decades, complaining of blood in their stool, abdominal trouble or unexplained weight loss.

The diagnosis: colorectal cancer. And by that time, it was often too late.

But that paradigm is finally starting to shift, at least for patients in their 40s.

There has been a jump in people aged 45 to 49 getting screened for colorectal cancer, after recent medical guidelines lowered the screening age for those at average risk.

As a result, the disease is being caught sooner, when it is more curable and the treatment is less grueling, according to new research from the American Cancer Society.
