A donor egg match can feel like everything is finally falling into place… until a missing detail changes the path ahead, leading to delays, added costs, or starting over.

At Shared Beginnings, every egg donor is medically screened before entering our program—so matches are built on clarity, not uncertainty. It’s one of the ways we help ensure fewer surprises and more confidence from day one.

Our latest blog walks through our screening process, how it compares to other programs, and what you should be asking before choosing an agency.

Not all donor egg and embryo programs screen their donors the same way.

The level of medical, genetic, and psychological screening can directly impact safety, embryo quality, and success rates.

Our latest blog breaks down how Shared Beginnings’ rigorous screening process compares to typical donor egg agencies, egg banks, and embryo donation programs.

Happy International Women’s Day! ❤️

Today and every day, we celebrate women boldly shaping their own paths to parenthood, like Jazzmin, who chose to pursue her dream of having a child on her own terms.

Through our Shared Beginnings embryo program, she found a donor who reflected her identity and values, and today she is the proud mom of her daughter, Alyanah.

Her story is a powerful reminder that building a family isn’t defined by timing or circumstance. It’s defined by love, intention, and the choices we make.

In Raleigh Magazine’s recent article, “Between Hope & Heartbreak,” Melissa Howsam thoughtfully explores the complexity of the fertility journey.

We’re honored Shared Beginnings Program Director, Stephanie Bartlett and medical leader, Dr. Susannah Copland contributed their expertise to the piece, providing perspectives on fertility timetables, success rates, cost of care, and donor options.

“People often assume that if egg quality or quantity declines, that means you can’t carry a pregnancy - and that's just not true.” - Stephanie Bartlett, MSN, WHNP-BC

“The fertile soil that grew Shared Beginnings was that the Triangle has a lot of wonderful egg donors and recipients...enough that we could find a way to decrease cost and increase access.” - Susannah Copland, MD

An important update from Shared Beginnings.

Beginning March 2, pricing for our donor egg and embryo programs will increase. This change reflects the realities of delivering a medically rigorous, technically complex program led by experienced fertility professionals and designed for higher success.

Even with this adjustment, our shared donor model continues to make Shared Beginnings one of the most competitively priced options in the industry, without compromising care or outcomes.

We never want to rush a decision as meaningful as building your family. Our goal is simply to make sure you have plenty of notice and clear information as you consider your next steps.

To receive previously quoted pricing, programs must be confirmed by Friday, February 27.

If you have questions or would like to talk through your options, our team is here to help, whenever you’re ready.

Emotional support shouldn’t be a checkbox. It should be part of care.

In a recent Inside Reproductive Health report on the State of Third Party Services via Fertility Bridge, Shared Beginnings was cited for integrating fertility-specific counseling before, during, and after donor conception, not as a one-time clearance, but as ongoing support.

Programs that prioritize this continuity see fewer disruptions and stronger patient experiences.

Grateful to be part of a field that’s moving toward more complete, human-centered care.

Embryo adoption and donor embryos aren’t the same. The differences matter.

Many people exploring embryo adoption don’t realize that traditional embryo adoption often involves remaining IVF embryos, legal processes, and variable success rates.

Donor embryos through Shared Beginnings are different:
• Created intentionally from fully screened egg and s***m donors
• Typically PGT-A tested and frozen at Day 5 or 6
• No home study or adoption process required
• Inclusive of all intended parents
• Medically led, with high success rates

If you’re researching embryo adoption or donor embryos, understanding these differences can make all the difference in your journey.
