Residents and guests of Capital Oaks were treated to a sensational performance of Taiko drumming! Takumi Kato, an award-winning Japanese Taiko drummer, has been touring the United States with his three young sons. Their goal is to present 1,000 performances across all 50 states, and we were honored to host performance number 642. Their beautiful music filled the theatre with sounds that captivated the audience and left everyone mesmerized.

We rounded out the day with a delicious Japanese lunch and an armchair travelogue to Japan! Thank you, Takumi Kato, Peaceful Forest, and the Japan-America Society of NC for sharing the beauty of Japanese music with us!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! 🍦 An impromptu ice cream social is already a win—but following it with a cheerful happy hour takes the cake. John and Dana were fantastic, and the whole afternoon at Capital Oaks was pure joy. What a day!

Elvis was in the building! 🎤✨ Residents and guests at Capital Oaks came together to celebrate the King’s birthday with an unforgettable show and reception. A huge thank you to Stephen Freeman, an award winning and national known Elvis Tribute Artist, for bringing the magic of Elvis right to us. It was a packed house, full of music, laughter, and a whole lot of fun. What an afternoon! 🎤✨

New Year’s Eve was truly unforgettable, and we’re still smiling about it. 🥂 Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening 🎶 The Michael Pelz Sherman Duo filled the room with fantastic live music 🎉 The atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of celebration as we welcomed the new year together.
