Could there be any more stress in our daily lives? We know there’s a lot going on these days.

April is Stress Awareness Month and it’s important not only to recognize stress but also to manage and reduce it.

This might look like limiting doomscrolling, moving your body, taking mindful breaths, or setting healthy boundaries.

If that feels like a lot, start with just one thing. What’s your favorite way to reduce stress? Comment below ⬇️

Having a cesarean with your first baby does not automatically mean all future births must be cesarean. In fact, recommends vaginal birth over repeat cesarean whenever possible 💙

Have you ever heard of a VBAC? It stands for Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Talk with your provider about your options and what may be best for you.

This week is Black Maternal Health Week.

Did you know that Black women are 3-4 times more likely to die due to pregnancy-related causes than white women?

At least 80% of these deaths are preventable.

This week we highly encourage you to support organizations and platforms who are working to improve these statistics. We recommend following and supporting to support local change.

Consider donating to Equity Before Birth this week and attending their 5th Annual Dance for Black Maternal Health ⬇️

The International Cesarean Awareness Network has designated April as Cesarean Awareness Month.

This month ICAN works to raise awareness on all topics around cesarean birth, including how to reduce preventable cesareans, provide more support for recovery, and to help advocate for those wanting a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).

At Doulas of Raleigh, we know that cesareans can be planned or unplanned, but we want you to know that you have options and we’re here to support your choices 💙
