Week 1 is in the books! With support from 69 on-site examiners, 72 remote OSCE scorers and an exceptional team working behind the scenes, we administered the APPLIED Exam to over 400 candidates during the first week of the 2026 administration year.

Most know the ABA for exams and MOCA. But behind the scenes, our Credentialing Committee reviews about 155 complex cases per year related to training, non‑traditional pathways and professional standing, including:
➡️ Actions against a medical license
➡️ Physicians facing substance use disorders
➡️ Interrupted or unsatisfactory training

The Committee reviews each case with respect for individual circumstances and a steadfast commitment to patient safety and the integrity of certification.

The In‑Training Exam (ITE) helps programs assess residents’ and fellows’ progress throughout anesthesiology and subspecialty training.

Programs have until Feb. 19 to register fellows for the 2026 ITE–Critical Care Medicine and ITE–Pain Medicine in RTID.
