“How often do people actually need CPR?”
More than you might think.
In the United States, over 350,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals every year — that’s nearly 1,000 people every single day.
Even more eye-opening… about 70% of cardiac arrests happen at home, not in public.
Here’s why CPR matters:
- Less than half of victims get CPR from a bystander
- Survival rates are low (around 10–12%) without immediate help
- CPR can double or even triple someone’s chance of survival
Every minute without CPR decreases survival by about 10%.
That means when cardiac arrest happens, you are the help before EMS arrives.
Be ready when it matters.
