If you're not able to see us in person, we have Virtual Visits available every day where you can get the same care from our doctors from the comfort of your home. Whether you're experiencing the common cold, cough, flu, or in need of an X-ray and/or stitches, our professional and friendly clinicians are here to provide you the compassionate care you deserve. We offer a wide variety of wellness treatment options including immunizations, IV hydration therapy, B12 shots, sports, and work physicals (including DOT), cardiovascular screening, concussion management, and physical therapy. At Marque, our passion is your wellness and it's our mission to get you back to feeling happy and healthy. We accept most major PPOs, select HMOs, and offer self-pay discounts for non-insured patients. We're a provider of occupational medicine for hundreds of organizations in Southern California. We offer pre-employment physicals, drug screens, annual wellness exams, and PATs (Physical Ability Testing). We are proud to offer a broad range of services to meet the healthcare needs of our community. We know that a visit to an urgent care, especially with little ones, can often be stressful. This is why we work hard to create a calm and welcoming environment that will help you and your family avoid stress when visiting one of our facilities. We opened our first urgent care in Newport Beach in 2011. We have since grown and expanded in Orange County, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Riverside and will continue to expand. We’ve noticed an uptick in sore throats lately!

While seasonal allergies or viral infections cause many sore throats, some can be due to strep throat, a bacterial infection that requires antibiotics.

Common symptoms of strep throat include:
- Sudden sore throat without coughing
- Pain when swallowing
- Red, inflamed tonsils (sometimes with white patches)
- Swollen lymph nodes in the neck
- Fever or headache

If your sore throat is severe, lasts more than a few days, or is accompanied by a fever, it’s best to get tested. Our medical team can perform a quick strep test and provide the right treatment to help you feel better fast.

On this , we at Marque want to help you understand what a stroke is, how to recognize it, and what to do if someone shows warning signs.

A stroke happens when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted—either by a blockage or a bleed—causing brain cells to begin dying. Recognizing the signs early and calling for help quickly can make a dramatic difference in recovery.
What to watch for (the “FAST” warning signs):1. Face: Does one side of the face droop when the person smiles? 2. Arms: Is one arm weak or numb? Can the person raise both arms and keep them up? 3. Speech: Is the speech slurred or hard to understand? Can the person repeat a simple sentence? 4. Time: Every minute matters. If you suspect a stroke, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately.
What to do:- Call emergency services immediately! Don’t wait to see if the symptoms go away. - Note the time when symptoms began—this is critical for treatment decisions. - Stay with the person, keep them safe and comfortable until help arrives.

This week, we proudly celebrate National Medical Assistant Week, a time to recognize and thank our incredible Medical Assistants (MAs) who are the heart of Marque Urgent Care.

Every day, our MAs go above and beyond to ensure that our patients receive compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care. They are often the first point of contact for our patients and play a vital role in every aspect of our clinics, from preparing exam rooms and assisting providers to ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience.

Medical Assistants are the bridge between clinical excellence and compassionate care. Their professionalism, empathy, and teamwork make a lasting difference, not only to our patients but to every member of our staff. We know that behind every great visit, there’s an MA helping make it happen.

Meet Dr. Walker!

Dr. Robert Walker serves as the Physician Director of Clinical Operations at Marque, where he leads all clinics with an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, and community connection. A proud Oceanside native, Dr. Walker is dedicated to serving the same communities that helped shape his early life.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to receive his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his residency at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, Dr. Walker established a successful medical career before returning to Southern California to bring his expertise home.

Beyond his leadership role, Dr. Walker is passionate about mentorship and education, empowering clinical teams to deliver the highest standard of patient care. He is also a proud Spring ’19 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (ΖΣΛ chapter), where he has served as Chaplain, Director of Education, and Vice President. Through his involvement with the Alpha Male Program in Southeast San Diego, he continues to champion youth mentorship, scholarship programs, and community-building initiatives.

Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, Dr. Walker begins most mornings with an early workout before checking in with his teams. Outside of work, he values time with his family, enjoys research and writing, and devotes time to volunteer service. His greatest passion lies in advancing patient care, promoting healthcare education, and inspiring the next generation of medical professionals.
