What an interesting time to give birth. I can't tell you how crazy it is to be pregnant during a global pandemic. I'm set to give birth in Irvine hospital, I was really nervous to go to a hospital, but they are totally on top of it. The maternity section is completely separate from other areas and they test before letting us go up to the birth area. With all the precautions being taken I feel much better. Today I'm 40 weeks and 4 days, hopefully he will come soon. Not going to rush him.

To all my pregnant Mama's out there, as much as possible,

Keep birth partner home except for essential items and make sure they mask and gloves it while out

Have a friend or family member drop off essentials outside your door

Don't bring any packages or bags into the house until they have been cleaned and sanitized

Wear gloves to open all deliveries then wash hands after

Leave your shoes outside

Regularly clean all toilets, handles, light switches, cell phones, faucet, sinks, fridge doors/handles, etc...

Being overly cautious is better than being hospitalized.

Introducing... Our new remote birthing classes. Force of Nature OC is now offering live online birthing courses. I will be coming to you virtually to help protect all the pregnant mamas out there. I will even have a section talking about best home sanitizing practice while pregnant, how to stay safe while out of the house and at doctors’ appointments, as well as the birthing nitty gritty such as: pain management, stages of labor, nutrition, fitness and its importance, pelvic floor what, where and how, training your birth partner, what to do when emergencies come up, etc... I will have 10 week sessions as well as 4 hour workshops for those last minute families. All my classes are a judge free zone, I support all birth plans we will always go over the use of medications and how to prepare and train for a natural un-medicated birth.

I'm working hard to support families during this tricky scary time. My goal is to continue to bring knowledge and confidence for all births. We can still work together to be as prepared as possible for your labor and birth at home, birth centers or hospitals. We will also take some time to debunk what the internet is saying about birthing at the hospital during the COVID-19 outbreak.

There is so much more to birth preparation than doing kegels. Yes the PC muscle is important, however there are new studies that though it does protect your bowls, bladder and helps avoid prolapse, there are more important things to focus on such as: body balancing, pelvic floor strengthening, abdominal strengthening, hip flexor stretching, release of tight round ligaments, etc... As birth educators let's get women birthing more efficiently, while giving knowledge of the whole picture of childbirth and childbirth prep

I love this honest truth. Thank you for allowing me to repost

Mama's always need to think about their healing and bonding. I encourage all my families to be honest with everything around them including visits. Mental and physical health of a new mama is most important. If mommy isn't healthy how can baby be? Remember our babies can feel what we are feeling. Sometimes the best support is space and time. On a side note though. I'm supportive of people offering to bring food or take a chore off a new Dad's plate. 🤱🤰 #
