At the start of each year, many of us set resolutions, goals to lose weight, break habits, and improve ourselves. But what if the key to meaningful change doesn't lie in January 1st, but in when we choose to examine our lives, even in the midst of challenges?

In her latest blog post, Gifford Volunteer Chaplain Kathy Rohloff shares her personal reflections on self-examination, growth, and the power of making conscious decisions to change.

Kathy, along with all of our dedicated volunteer chaplains, is here to listen with compassion and help guide you through tough times, without judgment, offering a nonsectarian presence. If you ever need someone to talk to, call Rev. Tim Eberhardt at 802-728-2107.

Take a moment to read Kathy’s words of wisdom on how to live a life worth living, one decision at a time at the link in our comments.

🔥🛑 This week, Chris and Rich from SERVPRO Team Paul generously donated smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to our Pediatrics Clinic at Gifford!

As part of their ongoing commitment to community safety, SERVPRO Team Paul has been distributing these vital detectors to medical facilities across our service area, including southwestern New Hampshire and southern and central Vermont. This initiative aims to provide new families with brand-new detectors to help ensure the safety of their homes and loved ones.

Being prepared before an emergency can make all the difference, and we are so thankful to SERVPRO for taking proactive steps to promote fire safety!

This January, in honor of Mental Wellness Month, we continue our "Mindful Moments" series, offering small moments of reflection and support to nurture our mental health.

Today, Julia Sobel-Faryniarz, MA, a caring member of Gifford’s psychiatry and counseling team, shares this important insight about grief and bereavement:

"Grief is a natural part of life and a reflection of love and connection. There is no set timeline for grief – people grieve in their own way and at their own pace. Grieving is not a linear process. Over time, we grow around our grief, finding new ways to live meaningfully with loss."

What to do if you are grieving or supporting someone who is grieving? We hope you can find insight and guidance in the graphic below. 💚

🎼When our providers aren’t seeing patients, they’re doing some pretty cool things! Dr. Doug Weiss, orthopedic surgeon at Gifford and team physician for USA Hockey, recently had the honor of presenting personalized USA Hockey jerseys to musicians Vince Gill and Amy Grant at their Christmas concert in Nashville!

Dr. Weiss’s involvement in this memorable moment highlights the care and dedication he brings not only to his patients here at Gifford but also to the athletes he supports on a national level. Whether it’s on the ice with USA Hockey or in our community, Dr. Weiss is a true example of how Gifford goes above and beyond for the people we serve.

We are proud to have him represent Gifford in such a special way, making connections that bring people together and showcase the heart of Team Gifford.
