Over 400+ crimes have been solved using genetic genealogy, DNA. Send me a message, or comment down below, if you would like to do DNA testing for your ancestry to know your heritage.

DNA databases have been highlighted amid recent reports about the arrest of the Moscow, Idaho quadruple homicide suspect being aided by genetic genealogy.

“We are calling on the public to assist with making the name index for the census more accurate by helping to refine the first draft of the names that have been created through our digital tools.” Pamela Wright, National Archives Chief Innovation Officer.

The 1950 US census will be released on April 1, 2022, and you have the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the nation’s history by participating in a transcription project to help improve the accuracy of the searchable name index that will be released at the same time. The National Archives asks for volunteers to assist with transcribing names unreadable or misread by the technology used at the time.

People interested in contributing can now sign up to join the transcription project. Read more about the release of the census and public collaboration opportunities in the National Archives News. https://go.usa.gov/xz3z4

A living descendant of the famed Lakota leader Sitting Bull has been confirmed using a novel technique for analyzing fragments of the historic figure's DNA.
