Day 29 of PT month!

Tyler is one of our Physical Therapists out at the main clinic. He enjoys treating a variety of body parts, such as shoulders, knees, hips, and the occasional spine. In his view, “Everyone is an athlete in their own way, so let’s get you back to the activities you enjoy!”

Clinic Savage by day, Family Man by night; Tyler is married to his beautiful wife Kayla, and they have two wonderful daughters, Lucy and Cleo. “I am truly blessed with the family I have. God has given me such a wonderful life.”

If not spending time with his family, you can find Tyler on the wrestling mat, officiating at the youth and high school levels.

Rachel is our only Occupational Therapist & really does adore her PT counterparts!

She received her doctorate from USD (🤘🚩 go yotes) & enjoys finding creative solutions to getting her patients back to doing what is important to them.

You can find her in Hand Land at the main clinic or out and about in the Hills with her husband Jake, daughter Molly & soon to be little nugget.

PT Month 2025, day 25!

Patrick Person has been a PT for 34 years. Pat graduated from Baylor University (Sic’em Bears) and then UT Southwestern in Dallas. He is a Certified Hand Therapist.

Pat has been at Black Hills Orthopedic for 27 years. He has worked with upper extremity injuries during that time.

Pat is married to Joy (34 years) and has 3 adult children. Raising Emily, Ben and Jake are his greatest accomplishment.

He enjoys biking and outdoor activity. And he loves Black Sabbath and Tool🤘🏻

Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

➡️Nick is originally from Nebraska (GO BIG RED🌽) and has been a Physical Therapist for 14 years. He sees patients at the main clinic on Mt. Rushmore road, and has worked for BHO for nearly 3 years.

➡️He has a passion for guiding others back to health and fitness after an injury or surgery, and he enjoys getting to know and spending time with the people he works with!

➡️His main areas of practice are running related injuries🏃, other sports injuries🏀🏈🏐🏂🚴‍♂️, and post-operative rehab with a focus on foot/ankle 🦶 and knee 🦵rehab.

➡️He and his wife, Ramsee, have 3 kids, Easton, Benson, and Noa. And not to be left out, Harlow, their boxer! 🙋‍♀️👦🧒👧🐶

➡️If Nick isn’t working, he is usually helping transport 🚌 them to activities around Rapid City or coaching soccer for the Black Hills Rapids Soccer club ⚽️

Day 23!

Nancy Busching is a Physical Therapist at Black Hills Orthopedics’ Baken Park location. She primarily works with post-surgical patients, neck pain, headaches, geriatrics, musculoskeletal injuries, and manual therapy for spinal and joint problems.

She became a physical therapist because I find the human body to be a fascinating “machine.” She wants her enthusiasm for healthy living and being active to influence her patients to become the best version of themselves.

Her hobbies include bicycling, hiking, healthy cooking and helping others in our community. She says it is always a fulfilling day to brighten up someone’s day and put a smile on their face.
Her husband, Phil Busching, also works at Black Hills Orthopedics at the 5th street location specializing in concussion/vertigo/balance. She has two sons: Levi and Luther who are both pursuing degrees in engineering at University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

Max works primarily with the orthopedic population. He is from Kearney, NE but has since moved to the Black Hills and is enjoying all they have to offer. Max enjoys helping patients get back to the activities and hobbies that they enjoy!

Marianne is a PT at BHO and does enjoy seeing patients with all different diagnoses to include: joint replacements, sports injuries, spine, as well as pregnancy and postpartum. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, skiing and running.

Meet Ian, a physical therapy veteran and a graduate of the University of South Dakota! For the last 10 years, Ian’s been crushing it at Black Hills Orthopedic, helping patients get back to doing what they love.

​When he’s not in the clinic, you can find him coaching his kids’ soccer teams or getting after it in the hills- he’s a trail runner!

​Ian specializes in getting your balance back with vestibular rehab, tackling tough concussions, and rewriting the story on chronic and persistent pain. He’s here to bring that endurance-athlete dedication to your recovery! Come say hello!
