Honoring Diane 💙

One of our nurses, Amanda, is participating in the 5 Boro Bike Tour in memory of her mother, Diane-who was also a beloved nurse here at Somerset Pediatric Group.

Diane dedicated her life to caring for others and is deeply missed by our team.

Amanda’s ride is a meaningful way to honor her mom while also raising awareness for ovarian cancer.

🚨 Medication Recall: Children’s Ibuprofen (Berry Flavor) 🚨

You may have seen recent news about a nationwide recall of certain children’s ibuprofen products. We wanted to share a quick, clear summary from CHOP to help you know what to do.

What’s affected:
• Children’s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension (100 mg/5 mL)
• 4 oz (120 mL) bottles
• Lot #: 7261973A, 7261974A
• Best by: January 31, 2027

Why the recall?
Some bottles may contain visible particles (thick clumps or black specks). No serious harm has been reported, but this is being recalled out of caution.

What should you do?
✔ Check your bottle’s lot number
✔ Stop using it if it matches
✔ Return it or discard it

If your child already took it:
• Most children are expected to be okay

Allergies or a cold? 🤧🌿
It can be tricky to tell the difference-especially this time of year.

A few key clues can help:
✔ Fever = more likely a cold or infection (not allergies)
✔ Itchy eyes, nose, or throat = think allergies
✔ Symptoms lasting weeks = more consistent with allergies

The good news?
Most symptoms can be managed with simple steps and we’re here to help guide you.

You may have seen recent news about polio warnings related to international travel.

The good news is that children who are up to date on their routine vaccines are well protected. 💉

The polio vaccine is part of the standard childhood schedule and is given at 2, 4, and 6 months, with a booster around age 4

For most families, there’s no need to worry. This is simply something healthcare providers are keeping an eye on while continuing to follow guidance from the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
