Aromatherapy Quick Tip!

If essential oils accidentally get into the eye, apply a small amount of olive oil, not water.

Essential oils are lipophilic (fat-loving), meaning they bind to oils, not water. Adding olive oil helps dilute and bind to the essential oil so it can gently work its way out. Flushing with water can actually spread the oil around, since oil and water don’t mix.

🫧DIY Citrus Sparkling Dishwasher Powder 🫧

It's still new to me having a dishwasher and as I got to the bottom of the bag of pods I realized the last few had broken open and was all loose in the bottom of the bag. I thought I'm not going to let this go to waste so I scooped a tablespoons worth into the compartment and ran the dishwasher as normal.
Now as I get down to about two loads left in the jar that I poured all that loose powder into I decided to blend up my own since I I already had everything in my cleaning supplies.

Here's the amazing wonderfully EASY recipe:
1/2 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Washing Soda
1/2 cup Salt ( I used sea salt)
1/2 cup Citric Acid
8 drops Lemon oil (Citrus limon)
2 drops Lime oil (Citrus latifolia)

Pour it all into a jar, make sure to stir in the essential oils thoroughly. Put the lid on and give it a good shake. It's that easy!
Don't forget to add a label.

Tip: Put the recipe on the label so that way it's quick and easy to make up the next batch.

I did switch out the lime for May chang oil (Litsea cubeba). It has an intense lemony sweet aroma that just lifts the scent even more.

I wanted to share a little glimpse of what I’ve been quietly working on these past few months.

Mini ceramic diffusers are here!

I started packing up the gift sets and then had that “wait… I should probably take pictures first!” moment 😅 So I snapped a few quick ones, but I’ll have plenty more to share once I’m fully stocked.

The mini diffusers are available on their own, and I also created a few curated gift sets (they make the sweetest little thoughtful gifts).

I’ll be restocking everything at Uniquely HandMade For You this Thursday, so keep an eye out. I can’t wait for you to see them in person.

When sinus congestion and coughing are running rampant in the house (you know the sound 😅), it’s time to call in a little aromatic science.

α-Terpineol is a naturally occurring chemical component found in several essential oils and is known for its airborne antimicrobial properties. When diffused, it helps freshen the air while supporting clearer breathing especially when noses are blocked and coughs won’t quit.

One of my go-to oils for this is Fragonia (Agonis fragrans) a beautifully balancing oil that’s gentle yet effective. I’ve blended it with Oregano essential oil (Origanum vulgare — not to be confused with oil of oregano) and Mandarin Red (Citrus reticulata) to create a diffuser blend that’s supportive, comforting, and uplifting when used properly.

🌬️ Diffuse when congestion and coughing are circulating through the house and let the air do some of the heavy lifting.
