I have a few spots open for speech services during the summer! I provide in home speech services at a time that is convenient for you! I currently do not accept insurance but provide services for $30 a session. I have no problem working with a parent on a different price if needed. Please let me know if your child needs speech services.

This week’s core word of the week is one of my favs! HELP - it can be used for so many things (zip up my jacket, open this package, turn on the TV, this is too loud, I’m dirty, etc) - and is a really important skill for self advocacy that is used throughout one’s lifetime!

The key with this one is that we don’t want to frustrate kids - so I don’t recommend giving significant wait time to kids that get easily frustrated (sometimes wait time can be short and sometimes it can be long!).

I’ve also seen people “plan” by taking things out of a child’s hands to put it back into a container. Please don’t do this! Some things (like bubbles or wind up toys naturally set up lots of opportunities) but some things don’t work like that, and it’s okay. If it’s natural to have lots of repetitions, I’m all for it- but if it’s not, please don’t take the fun out of things by taking them away.

Now that school has started back for many students, maybe your child’s teacher has mentioned or will mention language or speech error concerns. It can be difficult for parents and teachers to know when a child would benefit from speech therapy once they begin speaking. But kids can talk, say all of their sounds correctly - and still need speech therapy, for language support!

Please reach out to me if you recognize any of the warning signs below in your child! I'll be glad to provide advice on things to try at home, or I can come to you and provide evidence based services in the comfort of your home at a very affordable cost! There is still time to start summer services to reduce regression if your child receives services in the school system!

During the summer, I am available any time. During the school year, I will be available after 3pm! All home-based so you can get things done around the house while your child receives the services they need to help them communicate better!
