My name is Lillian Werley. I live in Exeter Pennsylvania, and have been married to my husband for over 40 years. I have 3 children ages 36, 35, and 29 as well as 4 grandchildren. I am certified as a Childbirth Educator and Doula through the International Education Association. I have been teaching childbirth classes for 26 years at the Reading Birth and Woman’s Center and Reading OB-GYN as well as hosted private classes. I do speak Spanish and have taught Spanish classes as well! I have done hospital births in: Reading, Lebanon, Lancaster, Allentown, and Bryn Mawr, as well as home births. So today’s class was different. Had a very nice couple that didn’t change, but I had 2 ladies observe my class. They were in training to be Doulas and childbirth educators. So I taught my couple and they were thankful for all the information I shared with them. Even got done a little early. After class the ladies asked about my teaching charts. Asked how long it took me to get them and the cost. I told them I had extra copies and told them they could have what they wanted even mats for on the floor. It was like Christmas. They were grateful and I told them to stay in touch. I am so blessed to share what I have learned over the years and share the extra tools I have that are extra.

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of helping a mama give birth for the third time. This was the third baby I helped this couple birth. Mama was strong but a little tired from waking up early with her oldest who was dealing with a cold. And couldn’t get back to sleep. Then came some contractions, but not !! She have a check up appointment, asked to be checked and she was 3 cm. Waiting for contractions to start up again. Then at 2pm she called me to stronger contractions so I go back. After an hour we go in so she can use the birth tub. After a while moms got out and was hands and knees. With on mighty push a beautiful baby girl was born making a big splash in the midwife’s arms. Beautiful birth, beautiful family. May God bless them.

Today I have my first class since November. It was so good to share my knowledge with this couple. They had lots of questions and thankful I was able to answer all of them. Wishing them both a blessed birth. God bless this young family.

Had a cute couple yesterday for class. We talked about induction. And how to labor when you’re induced. How depending what is used, how to labor. Recovering and breastfeeding. Hopefully all goes well. I did tell them if they need to remember anything to give me a call. God bless them with a quick labor and healthy family.

Had a mama come in for a refresher class. Going for an out of hospital birth and wanted to know how to manage contractions while at home. Hopefully I gave her information to help. Told her movement and positions. Praying God continues to bless this family.

Have a couple of classes and some every nice couples. One mom thought 6 hours was a long time to sit. But felt she got a lot of information! The other couple drove 2 hours for class. When it’s time for labor it’s going to be a long drive. I did mention they could come and labor here because going in to have their baby! God bless them both.

Did a childbirth class today! The couple was from Lehigh Valley area. Not sure how they got my information, I enjoyed myself today. This couple was well informed and appreciated the information I shaded with them. Lunch was on the back porch enjoying the beautiful weather. God bless this new family.

I’ve been busy with helping mamas deliver there babies. My ladies are some very strong women. Even knowing that they were not appose to having pain meds for labor. They all did a great and quick job of labor. What a blessing to be part of one of life’s miracles. I have a break from working with mamas in labor. I will be working on teaching childbirth classes again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

So yesterday I did a refresher class for a mom and dad that are having there 4th child. There first was during Covid and in the DR. She had a c-section and a year later another child again a c-section. 18 months ago she had another child vaginally. She have a Doula but she got there late when mom was 8 cm. Mom felt that if she was able to be there earlier she would have been able to manage things better. So this time I will be helping mom and dad with labor and birth. The best part for me was I did the class in spanglish?!

So on Saturday I did a class for another couple. It was another referral. Friends of a client from earlier this year. They were quiet and didn’t seem to have any questions! Which is ok, but I wonder if they didn’t because they know everything already!! Or because of what they hear from others!! People that don’t ask questions always worry me. I hope all goes well for them. May God bless this young family.
