Bcic was contacted last night for a late-night rescue with two tiny kittens, and we had to use our very last can of KMR to save them. These babies come to us without warning, and having formula ready can literally mean the difference between life and death.

If you’d like to help us be prepared for the next little ones who need us, you can send kitten formula directly to us using the link below. Every can makes a HUGE difference. Thank you for supporting the tiniest lives.

Many of you have been asking about sweet Kiera, so here’s an update! 💕

She has officially finished her antibiotics and treatments, and she’ll be following up with the vet this week for her shots. She’s doing so well — playful, super cuddly, and purring with a motor that just doesn’t stop. 🐾

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated toward her care so far. Your kindness has made all the difference. ❤️

Kiera still needs her remaining shots and to be fixed, so any additional contributions toward her continued care would mean the world to us. Donations can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

Thank you all for your continued love and support!

Donations needed for Batty!

Sometimes we can’t help but worry about what would happen to the cats we help if we weren’t here. Each one depends on our program, and Batty is a reminder of why our work matters so deeply.

When we were first contacted about Batty, the photos were heartbreaking. His leg injury was severe — so much so that immediate amputation was the only option to save his life. Thankfully, our trusted veterinarian was able to take over Batty’s care and perform the surgery right away. We were relieved and grateful to learn that he had no other major injuries.

Since his operation, Batty has been receiving light therapy to help his body heal faster. He’s eating well, adjusting beautifully in his foster home, and showing us every day just how strong and resilient he is.

There’s still a long road ahead for Batty, but he’s surrounded by love and care and we’ll keep sharing updates as he continues to recover.

We need your help to cover the cost of Batty’s surgery and ongoing treatment. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in his journey and in the lives of cats like him.

Please consider donating to help Batty heal:

🐾 Meet Stitch 🐾
Stitch was trapped during a recent mass trapping event. During his vet exam, it was discovered that he suffers from a painful eye condition called entropion, which causes the eyelids to turn inward, scratching the surface of the eye with every blink.

BCIC was contacted to see if we could help cover the cost of his surgery so Stitch could finally be pain-free and prevent any permanent eye damage. We were happy to say YES!

Thanks to your support, the amazing VOM vet team was able to perform Stitch’s surgery last week, and he’s healing beautifully! He’ll be back for a recheck Monday, and we’re so hopeful for his bright future. We hear he has a possible indoor placement!

As the weather turns colder, emergencies are increasing, and our funds are running low. Please consider making a donation to help with Stitch’s surgery and care. Your support allows us to keep saying YES to the next cat who needs us.

Donations can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

This little guy was found sick, with severely infected eyes. Thankfully, a kind person scooped him up and took him straight to the vet, who reached out to BCIC for help with his treatment and medications and of course, we said yes!

Your support of our program makes moments like this possible. Because of you, we’re able to step in and give cats like him the care they deserve.

He doesn’t have a name yet and we’d love your help! Drop your name suggestions below 👇

We are also seeking rescue placement for this sweet boy.

If you’d like to help with his care, donations are deeply appreciated and can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis. Every dollar truly makes a difference. Because of you, this tiny life has a second chance. ❤️ Thank you!

Bringing your Sunday afternoon smile…
Kiera played for the very first time today! After everything she’s been through, seeing her finally well enough to play brought tears to our eyes. Our hearts are bursting with pride, joy, and so much gratitude.

To everyone who believed in her and gave her a second chance — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This moment exists because of your love and support.

Today, as I watched her play, I couldn’t help but think of all of you and how grateful we are for this second chance she has in life! ❤️

Kiera Update 💕
Thank you all so much for the kind messages, love, and support for Kiera. Her road has been a bit bumpy this week — we had to take her back to the vet as she hasn’t had much of an appetite the past few days. She’s now on some additional treatment and meds, and we’re hopeful she’ll be feeling better soon.

We took this video of her earlier this week as she resting and continues to get used to indoor life — she’s definitely starting to settle in and show her sweet personality. Now we just need to get her feeling better.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has donated to help Kiera. 💖 If you’d like to support her care, please send donations to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading, PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis. 🐾 Thank you again for being part of Kiera’s journey.

**UPDATE:** Thank you all for your concern and compassion. We wanted to let everyone know that the kitten has been taken in by our program, received full medical care at the vet, and is doing well! ❤️ The original video was made before we were able to assist — the kitten is safe and cared for. Thank you for caring so much! More updates to follow!

It was late when the phone rang. A kind woman had just taken her trash out when she noticed something running toward her. At first, she was startled—but as she made it back inside and looked through the door, she saw a tiny kitten, alone and begging for help.

One eye was pasted shut. She looked so small. That’s when the woman contacted BCIC for help.

When we got to her, we knew right away that it was more than just her eye. Her tiny body was badly bruised around the pelvis—deep purple marks that had us fearing the worst. We didn’t know if there were internal injuries… but we knew she needed immediate care. Thankfully, our vet was able to see her right away. She spent the day under careful watch, getting x-rays and an ultrasound. We braced for bad news—but instead, we got a little miracle.

Her eye was infected, but not injured. No fractures. No internal bleeding. Just bruising, soreness, ticks, ear mites, and an eye infection—things we could treat.

She’s a bit malnourished, but now she’s safe. And receiving much care and love. We named her Kiera.

Kiera’s story could have ended so differently. But because someone cared enough to call… because our vet was willing to help… and because people like you support our mission… she’s here. Healing. Purring.

If you feel moved by her story, we could use your help covering her medical care. Even a small donation helps us say "yes" to the next Kiera.
Donations can be made to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

Cars in front of them were swerving, brake lights flashing — they thought it was maybe debris or a stalled car. But as they got closer, they saw something rolling across the road… a tiny kitten. 😢

They stopped immediately and ran out to help him. He was just 6 weeks old, scared, and hurt. His little body had tumbled across the pavement. They rushed him to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital, where the vets assessed the damage.

His chin had been pulled away from his gums that required surgery. His leg was broken, but they think it can be saved — he received the tiniest cast I’ve ever seen. It breaks your heart to think how much pain he’s been in… and yet he purrs when you pet him. They named him Max. ❤️

We are so thankful to the person who stopped to save Max. And so grateful to the amazing vet who adjusted his schedule just to treat him.

Max has a long road ahead — he’ll need new casts every couple of weeks as he grows, surgery for his chin, his shots, and eventually to be neutered. If you’re able to help with his medical care, every little bit means the world. Donations can be sent to our Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading, PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

Let’s rally around Max and show him what love really means. 🐾💕
