Today we held a heartfelt White Table Ceremony to honor our nation’s missing soldiers and to recognize the incredible veterans within our community.
A special thank you to Caring Hospice and Accent Care for the thoughtful gifts and delicious cupcakes that helped make this day even more meaningful.
We are so grateful for the bravery, sacrifice, and service of all our veterans and we want to give an extra special thank you to our very own staff veteran, Dennis, for his dedication both in service and here at Laurel Pointe. ❤️🤍💙
Also, a huge thank you to Donna Haase a Navy Nurse Veteran who came to give us a virtual tour of the USS Southern Comfort Ship. What a wonderful way to end our day.
Happy Veterans Day to all who have served and those who continue too!
"The table is small, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner alone against his or her oppressors.
The cloth is white, symbolizing the purity of their intentions in serving their country.
A single red rose reminds us of the lives of these Americans and their loved ones who keep the faith.
The red ribbon on the vase symbolizes our determination to account for every one of them.
A slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate, and a pinch of salt symbolizes the tears of their families.
The glass is inverted as they cannot toast with us tonight. The chair remains empty, for they are missing.
The candle burns brightly, symbolizing our hope that they will one day return home.
Let us remember and honor our fallen, our missing, and our prisoners of war. We will never forget."
