Workouts are great, but NEAT has changed my life. Hereâs howâŠ
For most of my teens and 20âs, I was obsessed with fitness & broke my body down because I couldnât get my diet under control.
I always felt I had something to âfixâ:
đ«My weight (the same 10-15 lbs traumatized me)
đ«My glutes (needed to be firmer)
đ«My thighs (needed to be slimmer)
I know the above may sound ridiculous to you, but these thoughts HAUNTED me.
Iâm sure you have body thoughts that haunt you, too.
Fast forward to 2020, I realized I had REAL things to fix:
â
My marriage: ended up not working out but Iâm SO happy now
â
My business: it was scaling so quickly & I realized I needed help
â
My relationship with my body: I knew I had to chill out w/ the workouts to prevent injury
This is when I started visiting Colorado. Many of you say I âglow differentâ when Iâm here.
âšHereâs why: the more time I spent in nature walking (a form of NEAT), the less I cared about my bodyâs âflawsâ.
Walking was my opportunity to THINK.
To reflect.
To be creative.
And just BE ME. It was ME time, away from it all.
I spent the majority of my life avoiding all of the above. Iâm a DOER and rarely a reflector. Anyone else with me?
đđ»What I realize now: Walking (NEAT) is my sacred timeđđ»
And guess what? When I increased my NEAT:
âšI lost weight without even trying
âšMy bloating disappeared
âšMy stress levels subsided
âšMy business felt lighter & easier
Now in 2026, I work out HALF as much as I did in 2020.
And when I stepped on the scale earlier this year, I was SHOCKED.
And as much as I still love weight training every week, itâs not the center of my life anymore.
Iâm not suggesting we stop working out. Iâm suggesting it may be time to step up your NEAT game.
Because if it changed my life, I bet it can change yoursâ€ïžđđ»
