At Create my Weight, we support our clients on their Health and Weight Loss journey. We follow an anti-diet approach that is sustainable and stress-free, with our 4-step strategy to Food Freedom:

1) Nutrition: learn how to balance, not count, macronutrients (fats, carbs, protein, and alcohol) for weight loss, maintenance, and health. Learn how to eat the foods you love and balance them with more healthy foods. No more giving up the foods you love or spending hours in the kitchen!

2) Fitness: At CMW, we help you create a custom, sustainable fitness routine that you enjoy and can stick to long-term. You'll be sure it's well-balanced and designed for RESULTS. Today I had a Come to Jesus moment with a few 1:1 clients who hit a plateau…

They all told me the same thing about walking…

ā€œI haven’t had the time.ā€

In my head I’m thinking 🤄
But here’s what I said…

ā€œHow about we schedule that mid-day walk that you used to love? You were SO good about it for months. What changed?ā€

They tell me, ā€œworkā€ and ā€œI have so many other things I need to do.ā€

Me: ā€œSuch as?ā€

Them: ā€œKids activities, catching up on projects, etc.ā€

I say with love, ā€œIf your kid had a 12 pm doctors appointment, would you work through it?

Them: 😳

Here’s the truth: You need to treat your habit like an appointment you would NEVER skip.

You’d never skip that 3-hour hair appointmentšŸ’‡šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

But scheduling a 15-minute walk is too much time?
Make it make sense.

It’s hard for me to pick my favorite part about St. Barths, but I’ll start with this:

ā¤ļø Hiking into this natural pool and then getting hit by waves (omg so magical!)

ā¤ļø Lots of laughs, connection, and walks with an amazing group of women who all value health, culture, and nature (plus our men—- I’ll share more of those pics soon!)

I did not worry about what I ate, drank, or how I looked in a bathing suit.

I spent over 20 years feeling that way, and I’ll never do it again.

Telluride’s ski resort closed on Christmas Day & shut down for over two weeks, which caused our mountain town’s economy to PLUMMET:

šŸ˜”Restaurants closed, and the ones still open laid off workers
šŸ˜”Hotel & AirBnb reservations canceled left & right
šŸ˜” Nearly 1,000 employees out of a job, who fought for housing here and relied on wages to pay their rent
šŸ˜” People canceling their vacations & not wanting to ever return = long-term effects on the Telluride economy

Luckily, our mountain reopened THIS WEEKEND, and our community is slowly starting to rebootšŸŽ‰

Age isn’t your issue— Lanyine lost 15 lbs with TLA at age 65 and she feels better than EVERšŸ’ŖšŸ»

Yesterday I checked in with former TLA member Lanyine, age 65, who joined my September walking challenge and loved it so much that she wanted to continue her success in The Lifestyle Accelerator (TLA).

Prior to TLA, her 3-4x week workouts, walks, and healthy eating weren’t working for her 10+ lb weight loss goal.

She joined TLA to lose 10 lbs and learn new things about nutrition, but she learned SO much more.

I help people lose weight and keep it off through small, gradual changes in their diet and lifestyle. We do this in a 1:1 and group coaching style.

After starting my career in the health industry as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, I succeeded in making exercise fun and helping clients integrate exercise into their weekly schedules to lose weight, build muscle, increase energy, and improve quality of life. However, what I learned over the years is how many people overlook the single most important part of changing our bodies-- nutrition.

I worked out with the same people-- private clients and class members--for years, and although they enjoyed working out and saw changes in their bodies, they still weren't 100% happy with themselves. Thousands of hours and dollars spent on personal training, gym memberships, and diet programs hadn't delivered their desired results. They admitted that exercising wasn't the issue; the problem was sticking to a diet consistently that aligned with their lifestyles.

I got lots of questions, and I still do today, about all of the diets out there. "Does Keto work?", "have you tried the Whole 30?", and, "should I start tracking my macros?" While these have helped many people lose weight, only a small percentage keep it off and end up looking for the next solution. The truth is that I have tried these in the past, had success, and then gained the weight back when, inevitably, I stopped following the "rules". I am 50% Italian, 50% Puerto Rican, and 100% female, so I cannot live happily without espresso, wine, chocolate, bread, and having a say in what and when I eat, thank you very much.
