CPC’s Rashidah Cartwright received a special invitation to attend the Women's Federation, Bridge of Peace Ceremony held at the United Nations! The event was sponsored by the Women's Federation for World Peace USA & the Universal Peace Federation. How incredible that the keynote speaker was Anna Eleanor Fierst -- the great granddaughter of Eleanor Roosevelt!
〰️ About Bridge of Peace:
The Bridge of Peace (BOP) is a transformative program where people come together and transcend historical divides, cultural, racial, religious, and political - fostering new relationships rooted in forgiveness, mutual respect, and shared hope.
The first BOP was in 1994 and that event brought Japanese and Korean women together to help heal the wounds of history. In 1995, the program came to the US uniting American and Japanese women. Since then, over 200,000 people worldwide have crossed the bridge.

CPC fondly remembers Alexander “Sandy” Van Rensselaer Halsey and extends our heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.
A devoted volunteer since CPC’s earliest days in the 1960s, when he served as a trustee for the CPC Board, Sandy played a meaningful role in shaping our mission and deepening our roots in Monmouth County. Sandy also served as Chair of the CPC Human Services Board, Chair of the Investment Committee, and was a member of the CPC Foundation Board. His unwavering generosity, leaves a lasting impact.
Sandy’s legacy of service, kindness, and commitment to mental health will always be remembered—and will continue to inspire all of us.

During this National Patient Safety Awareness Week, we recognize that safety in behavioral health, extends beyond physical well-being and includes emotional safety, dignity, trust, and meaningful connection. Client safety means meeting people with compassion, coordinating care across providers, and ensuring individuals have the tools and support they need to stabilize, recover, and heal. 💙 From evidence-based clinical care and crisis intervention, to care coordination and community-based supports that help individuals remain safe and well in their homes & communities, client safety is at the heart of everything we do.

At CPC, we believe that every man, woman and child deserves a happy and healthy life where they can find friendship, success and well-being.
Every child wants to feel like they are cared about and loved. They want to explore and learn. They want to play and be around their peers. We think they deserve all these things.
Every adult wants to find something they care about, whether it be work or love or passion. They want to fill their days with things they enjoy doing, things that make them feel good, that they’re good at, that make a difference. They want to be close to people, to give and be given love, to feel supported and validated. We think every adult deserves these things.
For many children and adults, they have experienced adversity, trauma and hardship. They experienced a time when they did not know what to do or a time they felt all alone. They felt down, or scared, panicked or confused.
For some, this feeling was fleeting. This adversity withdrew. They found support or were able to make a change.
For others, they found escape in other ways. Some discover that feeling numb is better than feeling pain. Some decide being alone is a way to make sure they are not rejected. Some even believe that they would help the people around them if they were no longer around.
These people looking for escape are all around us. They are our mothers and brothers, neighbors and roommates. Our coworker, our boss, our teacher. The woman you see at the supermarket or the man who sleeps on the bench in the park. They are no different than you and me. They want all the same things that you do. And they deserve them too.
At CPC, we provide treatment and guidance to assist every individual in finding wellness and recovery. We have provided mental health, substance use and special education services since 1960 and continue this mission every day...because they deserve it.
