Stretch Sunday
April is shoulder month
Today we will focus on full shoulder rotation
stretches.
Benefits of full shoulder rotation include:
works on multi-plane functionality
Improves rotator cuff mobility, stability, and control
helps reduce compensation movement in the back

Simple summary. Every stretch increases blood flow, breathing increases oxygen, thus
increasing healing. Do not push to pain level. Stop when you first feel the stretch.
Breathe out as you stretch. Breathe in as you hold.

I have used this gentleman's stretches for my shoulders to help after
a long day or busy week at the office.

I would like you to meet Sally. She is my stock photo volunteer today. When you come in or schedule an online facial analysis session, there are three things I look for first. Today, I will show you the first thing I look for. Are you absorbing nutrients? You can eat well, take supplements, and do everything right, but if nutrients aren't absorbed, they never reach the cells, causing deficiencies. April is Shoulder Month

I will try to post a stretch video on a monthly topic every Sunday. The first video of every month will be a video from Science of Massage Institute. This is where I received my medical massage training and the stretches I typically use at the end of a session as homework to maintain the work done in a session.
This is not meant to diagnose, treat, or cure. Consult your physician before starting a new stretching routine.

Keys to stretching:
Do not force the stretch. Stop the stretch when you first feel it.
Hold the stretch.
Take a deep breath in and when you exhale, stretch again just till you feel it.
By stretching this way you stop the stretch reflex and reset the muscle spindle response. This calms the nervous system and allows the muscle to lengthen without the tightening response. This allows for a deeper, more effective stretch.
